If we took a poll of every thread that's been made about "OP Champions"

With the Elo of the original poster at the time that the thread was made you will find that the majority of the complaint threads are made by bronze or silver players. A small minority will be made by plat+ players, and plat isnt even good.

What you people need to understand is that Riot does not balance around low elo, nor should they. They balance around LCS and high level play as it should be. Just because you have not learned how to play the game very well, and need to complain about something every 2 weeks does not justify a nerf or a buff to something.

For example. Yasuo has many counters. Just because you cannot play the counters properly does not mean they do not counter Yasuo. You cant just pick fizz into anivia because he "counters" her. You have to learn how to actually play fizz. Then you will faceroll the anivia.

Because those low elo guys cant accept that they have low skill so they blame champion.

Eh, I think it's all about execution.

If a bronze/silver scrublord such as myself relied entirely on anecdotal incidents to explain who we find OP, it should be expected that we would be ignored. That happens all too commonly.

Albeit a rarer occasion is a low elo person researching, gathering data, and observing high elo games and even LCS to determine if a champion is perhaps overtuned. I rarely, if ever (I think I saw it once? I think it was about Kalista or something) see that happen because let's be real, most people just want to complain rather than use critical thought when there's a champion they don't like. Nothing wrong with that, it's human nature.

However, honestly I think it's fair for anyone to hold the opinion that particular champions are just not fun to play against, no matter their elo. Those opinions I find to be valid, since there's a difference between finding a champion anti-fun (Annie, Yasuo, and Zed are/used to be common complaints) and outright overpowered.

I think a better way to manage things on these boards is if lower elo players focused on the former, and asked the higher elo about the latter. Of course, keep in mind this swings both ways, there's plenty of high elo players who are just plain assholes and mock other elos just as there are bronze and silver players who think they know everything and belong in plat/diamond but always get "bad teams."

Yes, but which champions they complain about is decided by diamond+ players. Here is the cycle of League.

  • Diamonds decide what's OP
  • Everyone agrees, and bans are fixated for the patch/meta
  • The henchmen of the diamonds bitch about it on the forums
  • Stuff gets changed

Well, I think both should be considered. It's totally logical that they shouldn't nerf every champ that's viable in low elo but not in challanger, but they also can't let champ have 60+% win rate in bronze/silver but ~45% in diamond
