There should be a tier between Silver and Bronze

There is too large of a percentage of players in the silver category. I understand it is a Bell curve of distribution, but still the bell is gigantic in the league ranked player base. I propose a pyramid percentage model or even just a more spaced out percentage model.

Adding a tier between silver and bronze would help divide the ranked system up further and probably improve quality of ranked games for the majority of players who play ranked. This is because most of the players who play ranked are in Silver.

Having climbed to gold, I find there is a distinct difference between silver 3 and below vs silver 2 and above. Lots of players get thrown into silver 3-5 out of promos, with very little knowledge of fundamentals. Players also start regularly facing gold players once they reach silver 2, so there is a noticeable difficulty spike

Nah. We should literally that wood tier we've all been waiting for, and put it below bronze.

how the fuck would that improve the quality of ranked games

whether you're in bronze or challenger, half your games will be shitfest stomps and the other half will be closely fought.

[ Bronze Copper ] [Silver Gold Plat ] [Good Elos ]

I could see Copper being reality

Maybe even make it the division below Bronze and make room for the players that can't drop any further from b5

bronze-silver: something like 70% of all players spaced out over 10 divisions.

gold-diamond: last 30% or so spaced over 15 divisions.

unless the variance of skill among that top 30% players is way higher than among the bronze-silver players, i agree, they should add a tier after bronze.
