Maybe because while he has more armor he just lacks it where it matters(his entire frontal area, he's basiclly saying "Stab me in the heart!!!")

But kassadin is an antimage, that's why he's one of the few melee champs without scaling magic resist. Oh wait.. Yes, his passive reduces magic dmg, but that doesn't justify taking away what he deserves as a melee champ.

that means he is useless in blind picks and is, in theory only useful when you are 100% sure you will face a mage... which Kassadin doesn't even accomplish to counter
