No, dryad is not fitting at all, because dryads are nymphs, and nymphs are females.

This is absolutely amazing and would encourage me to actually finally purchase Varus. I enjoy arclight since I'm a sucker for gold and white, but I already own it on Vayne and don't want to buy the exact same skin for Varus.

No kidding, it looks so amazing and so fitting of Varus, considering the fact that he initally looks like a dark elf, with this one being more of a nature/wood elf. Not to mention the fact that it would also put to use a skin theme that hasn't been used in so long, ever since it was initially released in fact as Ashe's skin.

I like the concept, but I do not agree with the name. A Sherwood Varus would of course be more like Robin Hood and less like a fantasy wood elf.

More fitting names:

Dryad Varus (like Samflash3 suggested earlier) - just add hooves and horns to go with this concept. There are male dryads in Narnia.
Naturewarden Varus
Elven Varus

I agree with you. If this skin were to come true, I would want it to embody aspects from both images, his brightly lit green eyes in the first one as well as his brightly lit green hands, and since he already has white hair by default, so it would be cooler to give him black hair like in the second one. He would also need to have that bark and vines surrounding the corrupted areas of his default skin

I was discussing it with other people, and we were saying how it would be more appropriate if it was Dryad Varus :) specially cause there is only 1 champion with the Dryad theme, Soraka, and it was released so long ago, so it'd be a perfect theme I think for them to bring back to relevancy

Woad Ashe:

Based on celtic warriors who used the woad plant to colour their skin
Blue paint (woad) on her skin
Brown leather armour
A regular bow with woad paint
A regular arrow

Varus concept 1:

Nature theme
A lot of green and brown
Vines as a cape
Gloves made of leaves and branches, which emit light
Weapon made of living wood with nature magic
Arrow is pure nature magic

Varus concept 2:

Nature theme
A lot of green and brown
Cloth cape
Weapon and armour made of living wood with nature magic - lights up in some areas

Other than having a lot of brown in her theme, Woad Ashe is very different.

Reminds me of Zyra honestly. I don't think this would fit in Sherwood Forest even though it's the same color scheme as Ashe isn't (in her Sherwood Forest skin) part plant and part human. Neither is Dryad Soraka. Honestly, I endorse this idea to instead be for an entirely new line of skins, perhaps named "Mother Earth Varus" as well as a few other champions that could fit this thematic.

Why Woad? It doesn't at all fit with the Woad theme. They have brown and blue/icy colors surrounding them, just look at Darius and Quinn. On top of having blue facepaint, they're also surrounded in an icy area. Varus doesn't need a skin like that.. He's already got Artic Ops fitting the icy skin theme.
