Ezreal needs help
Ezreal has a 48.29% win rate on Champion.gg (8/6/2019), have an average 23875 endgame damage in platinum+ games and has a ban rate of about 1.15%. What I would like to discuss is why Ezreal's win rate isn't within the ideal winrate league would like him to have. From what I've seen, Ezreal is forced to play as a spell caster, not an adc/marksman and people play him as if he is an adc. If Ezreal is meant to revolve around auto attacks rather than ability spells, then shouldn't his abilities, AD, AD scaling and item sets revolve around his auto attacks? Wouldn't that also mean that his autos should hit harder? Instead, he's backwards and places his way into middle lane as a better option instead- which raises the question about Ezreal's AP scaling as well. Why is manamune 2,400g + trinity force 3,733g (= 6,133g) just as expensive as infinity edge 3,600 + "any zeal item" 2,600g (= 6,200g)? The way I see it, ezreal should always lose bot lane because his 2 core items are heavily timed and lack the necessary damage to lat hit with autos due to needing both the tear and sheen on his first back. Any marksmen who wants to trade, will always win because of the champion's passive and that a bf sword has more damage for a cheaper price (1,300g vs 1,900g). This is especially prevalent since Ezreal's main damage source comes from his Q that just takes too long for reload (even with cosmic insight +5%) and minions who constantly interfere if you ever poke or heavily engage.
let's change the perspective up a bit and say that it isn't Ezreal at all. Let's look at team compositions. Top lane usually has some type of sustainer or engager. Jungle has a variety of choices, and usually they have some kind of sustaining assassination kit rather than Crowd Control, because let's face it- no one likes depending on their teammates to make the play work anymore. Mid lane has some form of medium Crowd Control with lethal damage. And Bottom lane has some kind of HARD Crowd Control with another teammate which can only do Over Time Damage. Knowing of this, Ezreal is purely poke and will always have trouble with champions who are meant to scale after the 23 minute marker. This also means Ezreal won't win against burst, or chain brawlers- especially when he needs a 3rd item to pull it off a win ever so slightly. Ezreal is too squishy when paired up against champions who can freely get poke off of him, so laning against someone like Sona, Karma, Brand, Zyra, etc. are out of the question for both mid and bottom lane. Ezreal lacks proper engage and the range of his E isn't large enough to proc his W's damage which is why his E is a disengage in more than nearly of all cases- yet the distance it takes him is too safe because it acts like a flash every 20 seconds or so. Due to the changes on Ezreal, he is no longer viable within the jungle since his W can no longer do damage in there. The only thing Ezreal actually wins against are squishy solo 1v1s and "all in" team comps mainly because Ezreal's build isn't flexible enough like everyone else's is and his E is the only viable universal disengage.
So the real question stands, what will happen with Ezreal? If he's mid game, then why is he AIR SPRINTING to cover the same distance at the same time?
