Delay allowing NEW champs in ranked

This provides some time for a champ to adjust to what players can do with her. and doesnt give us all a rage moment when a freelo champ comes out until nerf batted.

My friend won all his promo games yesterday. Why?

Because the enemy team had a terrible Kalista all the times that was 100% a first timer.

I always stay out of ranked when a new champion comes out because somebody will pick him or feed, or it will be banned and a ban slot will be wasted.

How do you mess up with Kalista, she is arguably the lowest skill floor adc in the game.

You should try playing her. Her AS is abyssal early, her passive can easily fuck you up because if you don't click the game will jump with passive after a moving target automaticly. And half her kit is team dependent.

She is a pure teamwork champion and having a bad teamate in Bronze(where he got promoted from) will easily fuck Kalista up because she needs it for her W and ult.

She is by far the lowest skill floor adc...not even close.

She IS however very forgiving, but there is a very huge difference between a bronze Kalista getting lucky with a good kit and doublelift getting his first penta on her in his first game with her.

She is really really strong, but she is not without skill.

Cait is way easier and lower skill floor wise, as is Ashe. Most of her kit is, click toggle, kite or chase. There are much easier to play.

No literally Kalista is babies first adc, if you can't play her you can't play any adc.

But hey I guess you have a lot more experience with judging a champions skill floor than me with you being silver 5 and 45% overall win rate.

Regardless, OP champs come out and they dont get fixed until a patch or two later. thats a lot of ranked games.

They should not be in ranked for at least a patch so that the community has a chance to test the waters with them. Like Azir. He was buggy as hell. Shouldnt have been in ranked.

Even the Pros play a patch back. Well i see nothing wrong with keeping a champ outta ranked in a similar fashion.

I wish they weren't allowed in ranked at first. I've lost too many games because some noob on my team just wanted to use the new champion and picked the new champion even when we already had someone for that role, and then played really badly. It's not that big of a deal with me if people want to play the new champion, but they should be more encouraged to do so outside of ranked.

I don't like the idea of having to use up a ban to stop your own team from using a certain champion.

I've said this forever but they wont' do anything about it. Not just new champs but champs they don't have any experience with. It should be a reportable and bannable offense to take some champion you don't know into higher ranked play, it's the equivalent of trolling.

This is one of the many reasons bans exist though, its a champion you're uncomfortable playing against so right now you're kind of forced to ~~ Kalista ~~, just ask for your captain to ban them every game.

Thank you for at least a reasonable argument, but i disagree.

Captains ban who they want typically. This idea is not fool proof and does not solve the unbalancing issues of a new champ.
This idea still does not solve the issues of an unbalanced champ.

Champions dont come out balanced usually. So why does a new champion that has not been tested by the community as a whole get to be a part of a ranking system where each champion has to carry their own weight, a.k.a a team oriented game. If an unbalanced champ (Whether OP or UP) is allowed in ranking your immediately changing the game. That is unfair.
