Why do her abilites scale with ap? Is she supposed to be a mid laner or like a hybrid builder like Kayle or Master Yi. And Why is she so bad rn??

AP trist was a thing before DFG got removed and her E got changed

And no, back in the day YI used to go full AP and terrorize but that got changed

I don't know about Yi back then but Yi now only has his w meditate that scales off of AP.

She's "bad" because she's a late game champion in an early game meta.

Master Yi used to be able to go AP but they re worked his skills a bit

Tristana is a late game monster unlike every other marksmen that is more mid game then go stale. Her passive e scales off of AP, killing a unit causes an explosion, but the active bomb itself is AD. Her w is an AP ability.

Now her ult is where things get confusing. 100% AP Magic damage. I have no clue why but most of her damage comes from her bomb anyway.... does it not?

I've gone Gunblade Jhin, it's good (before lethality buffs).
