What happened to ranked?

I am just honestly confused with how the ranked system works now, I feel as if your rank doesn't even matter. I am gold 4 and got placed with silvers and an unranked, but the other team is getting golds and plats only? It just doesn't add up. I do not know if it is something on riots end or what but, it is just so hard to play when you are on the team with silvers and unranked people. I just want to point out there is no name shaming or anything going on, I am just stating facts from happened in the game. During the game the silvers started to intentionally feed knowing they were up against plats. This resulted in a 20 something min game and me wasting 20 min watching people feed on purpose. I honestly wish riot would do something, or try to implement something to fix the team system. I just feel like the system has too many flaws right now, but that is just my opinion.
