The way posts are organized in a thread is awful

Listen, web devs, you don't have to reinvent the wheel here. Just copy reddit's already tried and true solution for managing replies and new posts, mostly just that replies cascade down from the top level post. This preserves context, which is important for making sense of any exchange that isn't a direct reply to the OP. The way you have it set up now is unreadable when the thread grows beyond a single page and is still unwieldy with just one.

You don't have to propagate the highest rated posts to the top like reddit, you can still organize them chronologically, but fix the reply structure because it's really bad, like the one of the worst I've ever seen on a forum bad.
