Can you really report a support for taking all your farm?

I had a Ziggs support which I don't mind however I finished the game in which my team surrendered at 20 with about 130 cs and he finished with about 100 cs, and yes he did it as I was right next to him. It doesn't really seem to break any rules so I was wondering if it is a valid reason to report for lets say trolling/helping the other team out?

Simply put, yes you can report for that. No, it's not a justified one. CS does not belong to any single player. There is no rule that says the ADC gets all the farm. That's the basics for it.

Now if they were actually trolling, like taking farm and doing nothing with it on purpose, that deserves a report and hopefully a ban since then they're putting the team at a disadvantage. That would be inting.

Things ziggs might have been doing:

  • helping push the wave so you guys can get early tower with his W, so you can get a huge lead

  • stopping a wave from hitting your tower if you had to back or respawn

  • accidentally picked up farm with Q or E since he was trying to poke with the aoe

Look over the recording from the game and watch them carefully while keeping these in mind. You'll get the picture and hopefully be able to make a just call.

I've seen a few red posts saying no one person is entitled to CS, which means taking CS isn't reportable.

The kind that "takes your farm" while you are still 25sec dead and it would go to waste?

The OP is the kind of Player who's attitude is like "Support doesn't need Gold"

You can report but they won't face punishment, not against the rules, no one "owns" the minions it's just an IMPLIED that ADC Needs minions but supports can freely CS. I know from exp I've had to carry some games and just went full farm mode and won many junk games doing it, is it annoying for the ADC? Very. Do I lose cause my ADC is bad? Not if I can help it. Take this with a grain of salt I've only done it In rare cases where ADC afks or tilts and just gives up, asking as they show effort I will try and be th bat support I can be or roam and snow ball others. Only ever stole farm in maybe 10 games this year and won most of those, cuz I carry me ADCs anyways :) jk play with honor when you can But don't give up wins of you are on a carry support /Sona/brand/lux/

hmm, this is a tough one, yes you can report him but it would probably not result in any action unless the person is known for taking farm and stuff. even then it might not change anything.

remember you can report for any reason but action only happens to valid reasons and I honestly do not know if this is a valid reason.

It is definetly reportable. However most people on the boards, and it seems riot as well, prioritize chat over in game behavior. So you can basically run it down mid as long as you claim its an "off meta play style" and probably be OK.

230 cs botlane at 20 mins and you lost? ill take those numbers everyday.

It is entirely reportable. It falls under the same punishment as Support Smite Singed or Support Smite Nunu. The issue is not that you're entitled to CS as an ADC. The issue is that they are hindering the team by intentionally trying to steal a role they were not assigned to.

If your Mage "support" is taking creeps and kills, building nothing but an income item, then they are clearly not playing support. They're trying to steal a damage role from a player who wasn't filled to Support.

If you felt that what they did was wrong then you should report them. Even if nothing comes of it Riot keeps track of this sort of thing and might use it in the future when considering that player's other behavior, or Riot might even use it in the future to calibrate the punishment system for new punishable behaviors.

All that aside, a more direct answer to your question is "no." The person likely won't be punished for it.

Now, that changes a lot under special circumstances. If they admit in chat that they are doing it just to screw you over, then you will have a much stronger case.

If they admit to trolling / trying to do something to hurt the team's ability to win the game then you absolutely can report them and Riot will absolutely punish them. But some people take farm because they genuinely believe it is the best way to win. They can be absolutely wrong about that, but because they are doing it to win they cannot be punished for it.

tldr; if they don't admit to intentionally doing wrong in chat then there's not much you can do about it. If they do admit, then chances are higher that your report will actually work.

You can try asking things like, "why are you doing this?" Because then they might be tempted to reply. If they're doing it for attention, they will probably jump at the chance to try to piss you off. Yeah some people are just garbage like that. If they answer with something like, "to make you lose, get fucked" then it should be fairly easy for Riot to see that the player is indeed griefing / helping the enemy.

To ensure that Riot investigates them directly you can always submit a support ticket explaining what happened. If you do, be sure to not complain about 'stealing farm' until you have made it absolutely clear first that the player admitted to griefing. This will help the support person or the Player Behavior person who handles your case avoid being confused by you complaining about farm being stolen (They probably have copy paste responses for this, because people complain about it incorrectly a lot).
