Assassin nerf (duskblade) --> compensations; mage nerf (waveclear) --> nothing

Just seems a little hypocritical that instead of balancing out power elsewhere for mages when mana is getting heavily nerfed, like Riot did for assassins in the SAME PATCH that they nerfed duskblade, they are deciding to just do a whole lot of nerfs without compensation buffs.

Interesting that even with those "compensation buffs", assassins feel so much stronger than before and will now be able to clear waves and deal a whole lot more damage than your regular mage. Just a little frustrating...

Because they weren't trying to nerf assassins. They are trying to nerf mages though. You're also neglecting mages got overall buffed from the item changes

AP items are 5x better than they were 2 months ago.

Yes they could use a nerf.

Because they weren't nerfing assassins, they were nerfing Duskblade in particular, and giving some power back to assassins.

Essentially, just making Duskblade a non-mandatory purchase.

Meanwhile, they're trying to nerf mages. It's a small power shift, but it's primarily intended as a nerf.

You're comparing apples to oranges.

balancing out power elsewhere like raising the AP on a handful of items or raising the mana given by Luden's and GLP?

They want tanks in every single role so they can change the name of this game to 4 Donkeys and an ADC, thats why they are nerfing mages.

Do you not remember that AP items got buffed in 8.4? THIS is a compensatory nerf to that.
