Support for a top lane main?
I main top and my go to support was soraka, now that she's permabanned who do I play? I liked her because she was really straightforward and passive.

You played supports in top?
Edit: misunderstood you. Personally I'd recommend Leona, but she isn't passive by any means.
When ever I have to support I usually pick Blitz.
When things gets rough.... "You call Braum!" 
While both can be high skilled play makers, you can also tell your team "I don't play support, but Ill throw out hooks." Or "...Ill keep them off the ADC as Alistar."
Janna is really simple to play, and provides amazing peel. If you play 
top, he also works pretty well as a support. You can 2 v 2 very well at level 6 and he can get tanky enough with just support income.
That said, soraka is getting nerfed next patch so her ban rate will probably drop in a few days when the nerf hits live.
is a great, heavy cc, tank support. ^_^ Pretty much goes well with any ADC and any team comp!
Leona might be a good pick. Very good at initiating teamfights, peeling and tanking. Doesn't have anything close to the damage output of a conventional toplaner but her outrageous crowd-control more than makes up for it.
