Riot should let us queue for only one role in Dynamic, and here's why.

Ever since Teambuilder and Ranked 5's were removed, there are only a total of 3 queues instead of 5 for people to play for 5v5, and there is only one ranked mode. That means there will be more people in each of the three queues than ever before.

I don't think Riot's argument that two roles are necessary to maintain shorter queue times really holds up when they've removed 2 entire queues from the game. There should be more than enough people queuing up for every role in both of the dynamic queues. I bet even mid mains would not have to wait more than a few minutes for a game at most elos.

I mean even when I used to play teambuilder and queue up as mid at some odd time like 2 in the morning I never waited more than 10-15 min for a game.

Let us queue for one role please.

EDIT: It's getting really old not being able to play mid ever, and if there's really that much of a shortage of supports all they would have to do is incentivize queing up for support with some small IP bonus

That's not how the math works. lowering the number of different queues actually increases the wait time if you do garunteed positions. Obviously wrong numbers, but let's assume each of 2 queues has 100 mid prefs and 75 support prefs. Meaning there's a 25 person wait for a mid to get into a game. Now let's assume both queues are combined and there's 200 mid prefs and 150 support prefs. Meaning there's a 50 person wait for mid to get into a game.

It doesn't matter if there are 500,000 queuing up for support, if there are 13 million queuing up for mid there are still going to be 12.5 million of them waiting in line for a support.

Role popularity increases queue times no matter how many people are in line, it's a completely different problem than there not being enough people.

Honestly its how you bend the system, i like top lane recently (Aatrox mvp ), and not much else this season, but i second mid lane, the highest contested pick, so theoretically if you put your desired roll in first and mid second, the amount of mid people creates an influx where you are more likely to get the roll you want, the first one, due to how less clashing the roll queue is. even with 2 roles, support is still hard to find, and any support/fill = support automatically unless otherwise known. The system isn't grand albeit, but it definitely stops the trolls and afks that don't get there role so you are forced to change, you have the role assigned and have every ability to report if they step out of there boundries.

Encouraging people to play support that don't usually play support will essentially result in people playing support that "can't" play support. The backlash would be tremendous.

Also, one of the primary reasons dynamic queue works so well is because it has something teambuilder didn't: the fill position. Without it, the queues would be significantly longer than they are right now. The well-rounded and/or selfless people that choose fill are what makes dynamic queue roll so effeciently. And one of the reasons dual position preference exists is to reward them. It allows them to primary pick whatever position they main and then secondary pick fill in order to get games started faster.

Either NA has a very different playing pattern than EUW or this myth needs to stop. I get mid more than 50% of my games...
