pls yasuo mains. here is how to properly play him
before you say my guide "sucks". i ask you to try it out in 3 ranked games and then post your thoughts after actually trying it. Post your results, how many games you won out of 3, and if you believe my yasuo tactics are strong or not.
I ask you to at least try it before saying it sucks my friend. It doesnt hurt to at least try it before judging it. I bet you will feel how strong it is during your first game.
And after you try it, if you say to yourself "you know what. i hope my future yasuos i get on my team play like this. im tired of getting ones on my team that build fulldamage and die in 1 second lategame and its basically 4v5" . if you feel that way after trying my guide, then pls friend give this a bump and say you support this style of yasuo play on your teams, so we can spread the word to all yasuo mains out there. HERE IS HOW TO BE USEFUL TO YOUR TEAM and turn yourself into one of the yasuos that your teammates will enjoy being teamed with :)
now on to my guide. ive taken the time to write this because i seem to be getting too many yasuos on my team that go 0-5 in lane and arent properly playing him
yasuo can be beast and not "useless in teamfights" lategame. you just gotta get some tank on him. you can become a unkillable annoying god
getting early damage isnt really that important for yasuo if you consider
-
you wont kill your enemy unless he is bad, even If you build damage
-
if you build damage first then your easier to be ganked and killed. building some tank first lets you never die in lane if you play properly. then you farm n scale up
so if you build tank first on yasuo. you are assuming your enemy doesnt suck so your building to never die in lane and farm to scale into lategame
so for people out there who want to main "the samurai" or already main him. here is what i believe is the best way to play him. heres how to make your teams like you
BEFORE THE GAME STARTS. you want to nicely speak to your jungler in champ select. communicate to your jungler that you want zero ganks and zero help. and then pray that he is a nice and friendly jungler and does this for you. sometimes you get junglers that are jerks and will come ruin your lane and feed all day (even when you ask them to stay out) but thats maybe 5% of junglers. When you get that 5% of junglers, just relax and mentally forget about the game and hope your team 20FF's and move on to the next. that 5% will suck, but you will enjoy the game with the 95% of junglers that are friendly and want to make their laners happy.
moving on. i think this is the best message to paste in champ select
"ZYX . hi jungle friend . i would like to ask you to never come to my lane please . i want zero ganks and zero help"
"this is how i prefer to play lane. i am strongest this way. i have focused all of my skill into mastering this one exact playstyle"
"so jungler senpai . are you cool with that ? can you pls stay out of my lane ? thank you senpai and best luck"
i think that message is best and should work at making 95% of junglers respect you and be happy to stay out of your lane.
i think 2 regen beads + 4 potions is best start. yasuos regen isnt that bad. this start feels really useful in lane as your getting your first 6k gold which is your strong early powerspike
in lane you will play with a "never die. always assume im being ganked. use Q to lasthit. play like a pussy" playstyle
also. you want to pretty much never trade with your enemy. because trading with your enemy will push your wave (making you gankable. which is bad cuz your told your jungler to never come to your lane). instead just use your potions, lasthit with Q, and farm up
because of your regen and shield. only use a potion when you reach 50% hp. your enemy shouldnt be able to all in and kill you when your at 50& considering you start the pot the moment you hit 50%. this should make your pots last long
now if course. after your lane gets pushing to you, it is easy to judge that you can trade with your enemy without pushing your wave. when you judge that this is possible, then sure you may poke your enemy with some Q's and maybe tornado him. but make sure you dont push your wave
some enemies u never wanna trade with early and if your a new yasuo player you will quickly learn these matches as you play. such as taliyah or darius if you run into them. against them only farm with Q and wait for your 6k gold powerspike. and against taliyah remember to never dash. i mention taliyah because many matchups like taliyah will have special things you learn about. like vs taliyah you want to almost never use your E (cuz you bust her rocks)
against most champs once you hit your 6k powerspike you should dominate the lane. even vs bullies like darius, illaoi, or garen. most yasuo players will struggle with garen or darius. but if you use my build you will find facing garen and darius is easy. with your 6k powerspike you should run over them.
but also remember. the trading you do is pretty weak anyway so you wont kill your enemy considering you ASKED your jungler for 0 ganks and the enemy jungler is probably camping your lane (since your yasuo). but doing light trading when it wont push your wave is fine just to put down some small safe damage
in lane. your primary goal is safe farm and never die and try to safely hit your 6k powerspike. the enemy jungler will probably be camping your lane. and you want him to waste time camping your lane. if you play properly you are almost impossible to kill. your plan is hug your tower and your waves freezing toward you. when your wave is pushing play very safe and use your ward and try to escape ganks using dashes and tornado
your Q has a very low cooldown with attackspeed runes. you can lasthit with that all day easy. and of course you can usually safely run up to lasthit the few CS when your Q is on cooldown
try to be constantly moving. between your shield, and 4 potions and regen, its easy to farm up and sustain to level 6 even against something like renekton or darius. recall around lvl6 and tp back into lane with tank stats. i suggest you play this toplane, its better than mid imo
whenever you run out of potions. recall and always get 5 pots when you recall. just farm safe and sustain with pots
here is the 6k powerspike. its not "exactly 6k" its just tank item + shivv. once you reach it i cant think of a champion that you wont dominate. your 6k powerspike is your strongest point. you buy around 2800 in tank stats FIRST. then 2600 for static shivv
you buy the tank stat for your lane enemys damage of course. against any AD champs like garen or darius or renekton or riven or graves or irelia . your 6k powerspike would be sunfire into shivv
against leblanc. your 6k powerspike would be banshees into shivv
once you reach your 6k powerspike you should be so massively strong in lane and you can start trading. but you can still die to ganks easily. once you reach this point, you want to constantly watch the map to see the location of the enemy jungler
when the enemy jungler is MIA, you play safe and assume your being ganked
and when the enemy jungler is spotted far away, then you can dash in and trade with your enemy
you will trade good with your enemy. but against things like garen, darius, illaoi, or riven, never "all in them". simply poke with Q and blast them with staikk shivv then tornado them and run away. you constantly tornado them because Q cooldown is so low. over time your just blasting them with constantly damage and knockups and you keep dashing to run away. your enemy cant kill you and you just are constantly Q blasting him. eventually he will get so low he has to recall and miss CS
Also during this “trading” with the enemy, i have found its good to use your ultimate for “poke”. you just keep Q blasting your enemy and if your tornado DOES land, just pop your R for some free damage then dash out and run away. because your ultimate cooldown gets so low at lvl11 , i find its good to just use it constantly to annoy your enemy and do free damage and get the armor pen.
but remember do not “all in”, its tempting but dont. your just using quick easy damage and the cooldown is low and its just another tool for trading
after this “heavy trading” with the enemy. he will get low HP and need to recall and he misses CS . when this happens, DO NOT hit the tower or take the tower (if your top). keep the enemy tower alive so you keep the safe farm there as long as you can. you want to leave top tower alive as long as possible. the only thing hitting top tower should be your minions. you want top tower to only die from you shoving so many minion waves into it that the minions kill it, or you can kill it once your about lvl15 (around 20 minutes) which is when your done with your “farming” time
i think its risky to TP to help the team. normally its best to just stay in lane and farm for 20 minutes. only use TP if you see a very good chance to help your team, otherwise just TP tolane and farm for 20 minutes. im not saying "dont tp to help your team". im saying "TP'ing to help your team is fine. but only TP if you are sure its a GOOD TP. dont risk making a BAD TP". and of course your TP is useful lategame when you may need to split bot and have TP ready to contest baron
after 20 minutes. “farming” time is over and your around lvl15 and you wanna kill all towers now and go into teamfight or split time. pretty much do whatever you think is best. normally you can just group with your team and dominate. or you can splitpush if you want. it all works
because you told your jungler to never come to your lane, chances are your jungler snowballed the rest of the map and your team is dominating. so wins are easy at this point
in teamfights its pretty simple. Q, attack, windwall, tornado, ultimate when you can. do whatever you want.
sieging is the most tricky part
when your sieging towers with your team. i think its best to almost never go in with your ultimate. use your ultimate when the “big teamfight” is like “halfway done” after you throw out a clutch tornado. or if you got a malphite and he hits a good ult. things like that. wait for a “good time” to use your ultimate. and beyond that just use your free waveclear with Q, blast out tornados, and your windwall is ready for every wave. for every wave you can run in with your minion wave and throw up your windwall and hit the tower once and throw out a tornado for some harass and the windwall lets your team siege easily and hit the tower a few times
many times i like to think of windwall as my "zonyas”. in teamfights when the fight starts and im getting focused i throw up my windwall in the direction of enemy ADC and BAM the enemy adc becomes useless and its like i just popped a zonyas for my whole team
also my final build gets a warmogs. so you will have warmogs regen when your sieging with your team. so you can regenerate from poke quickly
FINAL BUILD is in this order 6k powerspike (tank item vs your enemy and shivv) warmogs swift boots (almost every team will be packing slows or a rylais) jaurim fist frozen mallet 800g crit item, essence reaver LAST (i find going max tank first, reaver last is better cuz you wanna be max tanky when sieging with team) AD elixir lategame
i think essence reaver is better cuz it gives 30% (so 40% with warmogs) cdr for almost no cooldown on your windwall and ultimate. i think its better than 25% more Q/auto damage. since those windwalls basically delete the enemy ADC and are so annoying. i think the no cooldown ulti is better splitpushing too.
runes attackspeed quints/reds. MR per level blues. armor per level yellow. with just attackspeed reds/quints and shivv, you reach max CDR on your Q. which is why i think swift are better than bers boots
masterys FERV of battle. 2% vamp. 4% attkspeed double edge sword. bounty hunter. +8% healing +5% armor mr +150% regen
i think getting two early points in Q is best since your using Q to CS. i like Q E Q E W R then max E then Q then W while getting R
this build can outsplitpush even things like riven, fiora, garen, or trundle. you dont all in those champs what you do is just kite back all day popping up your enemy with tornado after tornado. your Q has a fricken 1.3 second cooldown and slows that means every 5 seconds your popping up your enemy with a tornado plus 3 Q’s of damage not to mention the 0 cooldown on your ultimate giving you like 50% armor penn and damage on like a 15 second cooldown
against things like riven garen darius you can easily kite back, pop up your enemy with tornados, run away, regenerate with warmogs, then come back later with tons of health (from the regeneration) and throw out more tornados. breaking down your enemy slowly
but mostly this build is about being tanky for teamfights. and annoying your enemy with windwall and tornados in sieging
if your yasuo top you wanna stay top and farm for 20 minutes and never hit your tower. if your yasuo mid you wanna kill the tower if its free but mostly just farm up and usually your whole team will clown fiesta mid with you around 12-15 minutes which is strong since you made a tank item first.
also if your mid remember to always mass ping a large wave botlane before it crashes into bot tower and say “YO adc go farm bot wave pls. big wave to farm bot”. you want your ADC to always farm the large bot waves and you just stay mid and farm up mid
