PSA: Learn to build to the situation you're in

As you play your favorite champ(s), you're getting into a habit and learning what works and what doesn't. And eventually you're going to come across a favorite general build that "works".

Well, unfortunately, that build isn't going to work 100% of the time.

Let's take, for example, that you're the average ADC. So IE, attack-speed item, lifesteal item, LW, etc. You get it. Rush that shit.

But let's say the enemy team has three fed tanks. Maybe you should bump that LW up from your fourth item to your third or even your second item? You see, if the 3 fed tanks have over 200 armor against you, regardless of how many crits you hit or how much % health physical damage you build, you're not going to do any damage since those tanks are decreasing your damage dealt by about 60-70%-ish.

But! If you build last whisper, you get to ignore a third of those defenses! Wow! And since there's three of those tanky boys you have to kill, it'd be just a swell idea to build last whisper. Why? Because unlike your normal game you may play where you'll only see one tank and you'd be doing enough damage with just your usual build path, in this case 3/5's of the enemy team are basically soaking up any and all damage you put out because you do little more than tickle them when you have no pen - this doesn't have the same effect against squishies who will get stun by your damage whether you have LW or not.

But let's give another example.

You're goin' Critplank. You're havin' a good ol' time. You're getting ready for that late-game crit damage where you basically one-shot the entire US navy, hell yeah! Let's get ready for that shit!

But then you notice that the enemy team has two AP assassins that seem to just keep ruining all your fun. Boom you go every fight because, well, them oranges just don't heal enough of the damage they deal. What to do?

Well, maybe instead of going straight crit you can build spirit visage and actually survive long enough to do any damage at all - wow, talk about ingenious! Now you won't just blow up every fight!

Point is, just because you like a build doesn't mean it'll work every goddamn time, so learn what's going to work right here instead of normally.

Honestly, I play a shit load of Rengar, and I rarely change my build and i still do fine. The most it changes is, boots and maybe picking up a hexdrinker if im very heavy burst Magic Dmg. Oh and i might get an early GA if the situation calls for it. But for the most part...item 3111 item 3142 item 3074 item 3035 item 3031 item 3046 Every game I can...
