Why does Yasyo's windwall block falling daggers?

AidanWR··14 votes·9,125 views

This is something that kinda bugs me, is that Yasuo can windwall Kat's w, or her q while it's landing. The aren't really projectiles, like other abilities, at that point, but the windwall still treats them as one. Like, I had a game where a dagger was just about to hit the ground from my q, and the windwall just barely moved over part of the landing area, but I had already jumped thinking it would land, but it got destroyed by the windwall. I'm not really asking for it to change, just more of a "why does it work that way?" Yes, they still move through the air, but only up and down

Cuz he needed to be able to hard counter ANY champion. No exceptions allowed.

When it comes to yasuo hate posts, Unreasonable is the new reasonable!

Because if the average Yasuo main comes in contact with any inconvenience for example- counterplay, he might quit the game.

Yikes these people mad because Yasuo is in fact not as broken as there saying he is or even comes close to it. 47% win rate as a high skill cap champion low win rates are normal. Take Riven for example she had a high pick rate and over a 53% win rate before her nerfs. That would be broken.

Writing properly helps to optimize everybody's time, because we don't have to read what you wrote several times until it makes sense.

Firstly, they're, secondly, the or even comes close to it isn't needed. If it makes you feel any better you're still coming at about average for a Yasuo main

What's even more funny is I don't even main Yasuo LMAO

You can’t call anything with 7 dashes every 15 seconds “high skill cap”

Riven can dash limitlessly when she reaches 20 percent cdr and have a shield on one of the dashes but that's high skill gap? There's a reason riot wont nerf him. And it's right there in your face if he was as easy as everyone says he is he would not be at a 47 percent win rate.

I never said riven was high skill cap either. Nor do I think she is. I’ve played that champion and she is easy af.

As for his winrate. That’s because of all the “yasuo one tricks” who don’t actually know how to play the game and choose to turret dive with no items thinking they just win.

so your telling me you think more than 50 percent of Yasuo's losses are people trying to tower dive with no items? Hm

No we call that the Yasuo effect. You either are cocky and go too hard or somehow misplay around your winwall/passive and feed your lane, only to scale up too late, or you won too hard in lane and just gave up a huge bounty trying to do a flashy play. Then, the other 4 people on your team have to make split second decisions on whether or not to follow up and try to salvage the fight, or group as 4 at tower, usually a mixed vote causing 1 or more to die with you, then the enemy team grabs objectives and the game tilts further away because the yas is now megatilted and flaming his team at this point.

TBF, throwing daggers are actually projectiles, even if they are being thrown into one place.

The falling daggers probably should work like Azir Q and just stop them in place, but hey, it's a CertainlyT champ, what can you do?

Note: Not saying Azir's Q should work like that, it just does atm for some unfathomable reason.

Why does yas block velkoz w and e when they are ground attacks? But not his R hmMmm

The E is a projectile.

W idk

R is a line skillshot, similar to lux R

Vel'Koz's auto attacks go through windwall also.

Velzard of Koz3 votes

E is skillshot, because Vel'Koz shoots little plasma thingy at the disrupted ground. It is the thing he shoots that is blocked and that prevents the ground from actually being fully disrupted. Why it works that way? Dunno.

Skillshot seems to be something that travels or doesn't affect whole area at once. If I am not mistaken, Yas can only block Vel'koz initiating W because while it is fast, it still doesn't affect the whole area at once, it swiftly travels from Vel'Koz until the end and even then I think Yas can only stop it from proceeding. However, from what I've seen, he cannot block the second part of already placed W because the second part affect whole area at once.

R affects whole area at once, his basic attacks are lasers, they are ranged, but instant like melee attacks, same goes for Zoe Passive Attack, Azir Attacks, I think Thresh and Rakan too.

Yep, the windwall just stops his w from proceeding past it, but it stays on the ground where it has already opened

They're still projectiles, basically stationary ones, so that's why they're deleted.

Working as intended.

Q isn't a projectile

Yasuo WW blocks all sorts of things because Riot counts them as Projectiles even when we may not.

Swains E is a Projectile.

Kats Daggers are even in the simplest terms a projectile....

Reksais Burrowed Q is a Projectile.

Nami's Ult Wave..... Ya Riot says its a Projectile

PermaJinxed1 votes

Katarina 's daggers count as projectiles because of their lateral movement. Even her w moves laterally (just by a very small amount).

My question would be, does ww remove the entirely stationary dagger sticking in the ground?

Yas ww just has some weird interactions on what is and what isn't blocked.

Victor e and Vel w should be treated just like Vel and Lux r.... They are beams.

Edit: I'll bet that Kat's daggers are projectiles simply because her q is and they didn't want to code it to no longer count once its movement changed to falling from flying. And w would be coded the same as q for simplification purposes.
