why is trinity and iceborn gauntlet both activating at once

so i noticed that the ez built both a trinity and a iceborn and thought to my self that he was an idiot for not understanding that the sheen procs where unique passive and only trinity was gonna work. then i instantly got my ass handed to me as what it looked like was that i was getting hit with the bonus damage of sheen and permanently slowed by iceborn because of his insanely low q cooldowns. combined with his e he was incredibly hard to catch and near impossible to escape from. i thought when something is a unique passive that means that any other item in your inventory that is bought after will not work and only the item that was bought first would go off. is this a glitch or is this how it actually works

The Sheen activates the more powerful stat in each case. So since Triforce has the stronger single-target effect, its damage is applied to the target, with Iceborn's damage applied to the surrounding area. You're not being hit by the damage of the Triforce and Iceborn at the same time, it's always one or the other.

Iceborn was proccing, not Trinity. The item you buy last in the instance of sheen items is the one that will apply, so iceborn (the sheen proc and the slow aura) was proccing per q, not Trinity force.

HOWEVER

The speedboost, rage, will still proc on auto attack, as it is a passive with a different name, and passive with different names, whether unique or otherwise, do stack

You're wrong.

If you build trinity and Iceborn : your primary target will get hit by the triforce BUT the iceborn will still slow and hit nearby ennemies.

Same with Lich and Iceborn.

The part about the last item you bought proccing is a lie. I always buy Iceborn Gauntlet first, and get Trinity Force second, and I see the icy field every time.

But I did now know the part about Trinity force proccing, but the icy field still procs. Thanks guys.
