Kassadin E (possible bug, maybe I'm bad, maybe bad design)

small back story. Kass vs Kayle mid, Dark seal, 3/0 by 6 minutes, go b, come back to lane and fight kayle. all in her we're trading hits I burst her down we're both >100 hp and I use me E (the pulse slow thing) and to my dismay it casts passed her hitting the minions behind her while she took no damage. and I get killed losing all stacks, start getting flamed by my team, go on tilt, lose game.

Anyway what I'm getting at is; Is this a bug? or just bad design? It does the same thing the old lux laser and ashe arrow used to. If you're too close to them the skill is just going to activate behind them.

~I've had the same exact problem playing Kassadin ~I think the problem is that the cone [Keep in mind it's a cone] is a lot thinner closer to you, pair this up with close quarter combat and you could aim pretty much very close to her, but the spread will hit behind her and next to her ~I think Riot could fix this by moving the starting point of the cone to the inside of his model or a little behind his model so to hit all the area in-front of him instead of the ice cream cone area. ~The only problem with this is that I don't want to be on the enemy team of a Kassadin, and use [for example Ezreal E] directly behind him when he casts E, and it count as hitting me due to the starting point being a little behind/inside the model.

Honestly I feel like they should just make the start of the cone a little wider. I should have won the fight neither one of us was actually moving (because bronze) the fact that I lost the fight and the game because the start of the cone was .25 of a teemo too small is so absurd.

same as cassiopea ult, easy to sidestep if you are standing right next to it
