Why my passion for League is beginning to deteriorate ("balance" will be discussed)

Foreword: First of all, I am an awful League of Legends player. There, I said it. I don't play ranked, I stay out of it instead for my own personal reasons. What I'm about to talk about is going to sound typical of a bronze "scrub" or whatever. I don't care. I am here to state my opinion as to why this game is starting to lose it's luster, and why I myself am losing my desire to play it anymore

Hello everyone! Over the course of about two months, I've been noticing that my... passion (for lack of a better word) for League of Legends has begun to die down. At first I was unable to decipher truly what was causing this to happen. I spent a few days looking at the games I had played, looking at the people I had played with (majorly real life friends of mine) and trying to figure out what really is it that's making me feel this way. I stay out of ranked for the sake of my sanity; I don't know what it's like to be in Elo Hell, but it sure doesn't sound like something I would ever want to deal with honestly. Instead, I just play normals, usually with my real life friends, as I have major anxiety issues that heavily affect my gameplay when I don't play with people I can at least Skype with and talk to. I don't know how to explain it; I suppose talking to people just releases my anxiety. Anyways, what I'm here to discuss is what I discovered as to why League of Legends just isn't as fun for me as it used to be back in December of 2014, which is when I started playing this game A LOT.

Back when I began, I was quite fond of this game. I would play whatever role I wanted to, and thought nothing of which role I may be best at. I had no desire to main any specific role/champion, none of my friends knew about the game, and I was_ just playing to have lots of fun!_ I began to notice over the course of... three weeks or so, that quite a lot of people in this game were really toxic. Having dealt with this numerous times before, both in real life and other games, I just either muted those people, or I actually wasted my time trying to create productive conversation, usually ending up in reports on both ends haha. But that didn't affect me at all, I still continued to play any role I wanted with whomever I wanted and the game in general was flat out amazing. Eventually, a few of my school friends got into it, and we began to Skype together as well as play together. They are all level 30 now, one of them actually silver 5, so yay! The odd thing is... back in about June (right after school ended) when I started playing with them all the time, I noticed that it seemed like I was fighting the same 40 or so champions in every single game I played. I am not kidding you, there are about five champions in the champion roster that I have seen zero people use in a normals game. Ever. Now, this wasn't making me less fond of the game at all; in fact, it enhanced the experience for a little bit! Getting to fight against the same 40 or so champions every game just made it easier if anything, to really learn how to counter them, and victory felt oh so sweet! Only two or three weeks afterwards of noticing this, I began to realize that it genuinely was not going to stop. People were going to use the exact same set of champions every single game, and there was no way I could change that. That's alright, I suppose? Gets somewhat boring after a while... But what really pisses me off, is the reasoning that some of these people have for using these champions, and that is: Easy to use, easy wins. I pondered the thought after asking a couple people about why they used the champions they used and giving me the exact same answer every time. I began looking at my match history, seeing lots of Jinx, Thresh, Yasuo, etc, and then noticed that I was also losing quite often against them. I had previously noticed this somewhat, but it didn't bother me for long periods of time; I usually just got over it. But for the next week after that, I realized I was just relentlessly losing, against the same set of champions. But this time, it was even shorter than 40. It was around 15. The same 15 champions I would see, every single game. And I lost against them, every single time. My friends always just got super mad and complained, and honestly, I noticed myself doing the same thing...

This isn't fair to me, or the rest of the League of Legends community honestly. I don't know if this impacts anyone else, but I am sick and fucking tired of being subjected to using the same champion, or playing the same role every game, because otherwise, not only are we going to lose, but I will get yelled at for it. Currently I play bottom lane solely, either support or ADC, and I mean, I enjoy it. Certainly not my preference though. I yearn to go mid lane, but I can't. Wanna know why? Because of champs like these: Katarina Yasuo Leblanc Zed Heimerdinger. I'm so fucking sick of being restricted to bottom lane, because those two roles in the bottom lane are the roles I'm best at, and I can't go to other lanes and learn them because I'll get harassed, reported, etc... and I won't even be able to use the champions I want to use. I've always dreamed of going midlane, using Cassiopeia Orianna Anivia Diana. But I cannot. I cannot, because I will not win against these champions. There is no winning against these champions. Laning phase? No. Team fighting phase? Only if you have a team that works as a team, which DOESNT HAPPEN BECAUSE I'M USUALLY ON TILT FROM LOSING MY LANING PHASE SINCE IT'S BECOME AN INEVITABILITY. I'm sure many ranked people read this and laugh; apparently these champions aren't an issue for those who are very skilled at this game. But I'm getting sick and tired of, what I like to call, the "League of Bare Minimum Effort" in which people use the most simple, flashy, easy to use, east to win with, easy to get attention with champions. I hate it. Why is everyone so concerned with victory? Why can't people just do whatever the hell they want however the hell they want to, without worrying about what others think? I would love to... but I risk GETTING REPORTED, VERBAL HARASSMENT (which does NOT help my already panic disorder), and NOT GETTING TO ENJOY WINNING LANE BECAUSE I CAN'T UNLESS I CONFORM AND USE BROKEN ASS SHIT! Jesus christ! Sick of these champions that make the game unenjoyable for everyone else, but people are still somehow selfish enough to use them anyways because all they care about is winning and feeling good. Fucking done with it.

TL;DR - My passion for League of Legends is disintegrating. I am forced to play lanes that I do not enjoy (bottom lane solely) because I can't go mid. I can't go mid, because the same 10 champions are used every game, and of course, these champions are the easiest to use, easiest to win with, easiest to make plays. I can't enjoy my all time favorite champions, in fear of being harassed, reported, etc. I want to play midlane so so badly, but I can't without using the typical set of champions that everyone else uses just to have a chance at victory nowadays. I don't like it, at all.

That is a pretty long TL DR but I guess I'll read it.

Okay... play whatever champ you want, who cares what other people think.
