What is with my LP Gain/Loss? I'm so confused.

So. I'm currently in Gold 5. I've got a 50-51% Winrate, at the moment(Was recently as high as 53%, not that it's much higher there.), with 290 wins, 284 losses.

I've consistently had more wins than losses the entire season(Albeit only slightly at times, such as now.), and slowly climbed the entire season. I was getting 20--25 LP per win, with 14-19 down per loss. This made sense to me, considering I had a slightly above 50% winrate(Thereby playing slightly better, SHOULD be climbing.)

Then I hit gold. This is where the problem started. I hit gold ELO, and lost a few matches. Nothing major, but I dropped from the +20ish wins I had, to +5ish wins, but never dropping below or even on the Win/Loss ratio. This happens, you get losing streaks sometimes. It's happened to me all season on and off, just how it goes - You can't win them all. The problem is that after this loss streak, I'm getting +13-14 LP per win, and -21-24 LP per loss. This is absolutely crazy to suddenly be happening, especially considering I still have a positive winrate.

I know sites like op.gg aren't 100% accurate on your "MMR", but I did pop over there to see if maybe I had really skewed my MMR somehow - According to them I'm still playing at a gold 4 MMR, above average by their ratings. Which realistically still doesn't mean much, but tends to be generally pretty good. I've used it a lot throughout the season and it's always been pretty close for the people I'd get matched with.

So.. I'm sitting here with a positive winrate(Albeit only slight at the moment), according to stats sites my MMR isn't skewed, I'm only Gold 5 so it's not like I'm at the upper echelon... Why am I getting so little LP per win, and losing so much per loss? I'm playing solo(Although I did play a few duos with S2-S1 friends to help them reach gold.), so it's not like I'm partnered with an S5 for easier games. What can I do about this? Carrying a slightly positive winrate is going to end with me falling out of gold, even if I win 3 of every 5 at the moment.

Yeah, only thing to do is keep winning.

Of course I'm just guessing, but it sounds like you lost some games that you were very favored to win, and the system is accounting for that. I don't doubt that the system makes some mistakes, but if you keep playing at the same level, it should iron itself out. MMR adjusts after every game, so it shouldn't stay that way for long if you prove you can beat opponents with the MMR you currently have.
