Support Veigar way too viable

I just played a game where Veigar was picked early, making our mid laner and jungle early picked ad heros. Kayle then chose to counter pick our two assasin's. We find out that the Veigar decided to go support, and because of his passive update he can get free ap just on harass. Now don't get me wrong, we wrecked laning phase. But as the game progressed, it got ever so slightly to keep the lead against his damage. Even as support with only 118 cs, he managed to get over 1000 ap by the end of the game. At one point he was something like 1/4/2 but with his change also on his R, he managed to execute with out needing items. It becomes impossible to sustain a single combo, and with one enemy out of the game, winning a 4 v 5 is not hard. A support should not be able to do this. If it was a farmed late game Veigar mid, this is acceptable. But mid game 2 item Veigar became so scary that our assassins would focus him. Another thing the assassins should not have had to do. I also believe that this update with the new items makes Veigar incredibly over powered. Something must be done about this.
