Anybody else feel like League of Legends is behind an EXTREME time wall?

Honestly, with the price of over half the roster being 4800 or above, and the minuscule IP gains (~80 per win w/o boost), you have to devote a LOT of time just to unlock a somewhat newer champion. I don't know if there needs to be more IP gained in a game or what, but it feels like too much of a grind if I'm devoting 20+ hours to unlock a champion. Let alone people that have been playing this game forever, how are newer players really supposed to get into the game when they can't slap together many champions?

It's fine. Funny, I don't see you complaining about no box cost or subscription fee

League is absolutely behind a huge time wall, but not because of IP costs. The game knowledge requirement in this game is absolutely bonkers.

It's taking me weeks to save up the 6300 IP for Taliyah...

Oh, and then I have to save up another 6300 to get a new rune page so I can play tanks better. Yay.

You only need a pool of 16 champions to play and I've seen higher elos play with only 2 rune pages and 16 of the cheapest champions for their pool.

Have you played Hearthstone?

Now THAT is what we call a time wall that's so high it may as well be a pay wall.

The only problem in this game are rune pages and runes, rest is fine imo.

450 ip champions are best for new players as they all tend to be mechanically simple and easy to pick up. It's why even when poppy was updated riot tried to keep her easy to play. 6300 champs tend to be much more technical or mechanical - new players should be avoiding these. It doesn't take very long at all to save up 450 IP. Actually, if you get a 450 ip champion, then practice them for 5 games, you should have enough IP for another one.
