8 wins 2 losses and yet it still places me in bronze 5 WHY RIOT?

So End of Season 5 I ended In Bronze 2 Pre season I fell between bronze 4 and Bronze 1 going up and down quite frequently...

Finish my placement series Do SUPER well having 8 wins and only 2 losses and it still places me in bronze 5?

WHY.. why after how well I've done after how well I've been doing do I get placed back in the bottom ranks? It just doesn't make sense... sigh

EDIT: Thank you all for the love and outgoing support it really means a lot to me and has put my faith back within this community <3 I know that the system is based a lot around your mmr and the original scoring that it soft resets around but I really do appreciate all of the outgoing love and support from everyone here also the upvotes <3!

Get ready for a swarm of people telling you about MMR and how low Elo you are. I think its a joke of a ranked system and you shouldn't have been placed Bronze 5. Not saying you should be placed Plat or Diamond but you shouldn't be bronze if you won 8/10 games and they claim to base Ranked off of win/lose, than it shows some major flaws in the system.

Your ELO last season was below of B5, and all your provisional matches were against other B5.

Because where you end up is actually heavily influenced by how you did during the preseason, and previous season

Before I explain why you are were you are, let me frist state this: your MMR is currently at 573. The average MMR for that division is 692.

Now to explain. Its been told since season 3; every new season your MMR gets a soft reset. That said, you most likely wont be placed in that division that you were at when the season ended. Furthermore, the placement system calculates where your MMR is at. Kind of like a average, takes your highest and lowest MMR into account. You most likely lost a match that had a very low MMR and therefore it lowered the MMR to see if thats the correct MMR. If you won that then it increases your MMR, but it doesnt put you to the MMR you lost in, since you lost in it. It increases but not in major increments. Also lets not forget that you were in bronze and bronze 5 and bronze 2 isnt a major difference in MMR. Also silver 3-4s where probably put in high bronze, not all but most. So at the moment that MMR belongs to that group of people.

I will try to share a bit of knowledge I know to be true weather riot has approved it or not. When previous ranked you will only gain one rank at max from placements. I won 8/10 of my placements last season and was promoted to silver 5 from bronze one. The ranked system doesn't actually work as it should. I can almost promise that making a new account would be a better idea than just trying to bs your way out of bronze.

I made a post a while back to hard reset ranks for people bronze 1-5 if they so choose so, but it was relatively unproductive.

FFS rito fix your garbage ranked system.

Placements are entirely based on MMR. You probably could of won all 10 and got placed in bronze 5. It's all predetermined by last years MMR.

Your placements begin based on your MMR from the end of last year. So even doing well still leaves you in Bronze somewhere.

I was gold 3 last season , did my placement match ! Was 7 wins 3 loses and ended up silver 4..... what the hell riot ! thats so retarded ! don't put placement matches if you're just going to put us lower to what we were before !

I am guessing something similar happened to you as happened to me. When I first started playing ranked last season, I only won about 3/10 games in my placements but was put in Silver 2 or 3. I pretty much immediately noticed that I was way over my head. I started losing games like crazy; I was not at this level at all. I dropped all the way to Bronze 5 where over the course of the season I got a decent amount better.

I climbed up to Silver IV at my highest and ended the season in Silver V. What I've noticed though is that my MMR must still be very low due to the huge number of losses I had initially. The fault of the system here I think is that I was placed in such a high league when I had no ability to hang there. 3/10 for first placements should put you in Bronze 4-5 I think, not mid-Silver.

I see the same thing as you, that when I win a game I generally get only 10-13 LP, but losing a game I lose about 25 LP. So I've needed to win 65-70% of my games to climb at this point.

I just did my placements, went 6/4 and also got placed back in Bronze 5, after ending last season Silver 5.

So... it's the history of what happened to me and maybe to you that has given us this huge hill to climb. But the fact of the matter is at this point in Bronze we probably should be winning 2 out of 3 games, so our MMR will improve with time and we'll have an easier time climbing up. The biggest thing I learned was play champs that can carry, since that makes the biggest difference to your team.

I had never been placed in bronze 5 always bronze 3 and above and exactly the same as you has happened 8 wins 2 loses and placed in bronze 5. I know it's the whole mmr but there are people in bronze 1 who have only had 1 win it is not fair and very frustrating I feel you here <3 item 3070 [zombie-nunu-tears]

Question........If you have never played ranked on an account, will the W/L ratio for placements determine rank OR does the system take your normal MMR and add that into the equation? Is it something else entirely?

Very curious about this because this will be my first ranked season.

I m brons 4 after winning 9/10 placements games, now playing 4 ranked games (1 AFK in my team and 4 feeders) likely i will go to brons 5, i went elise jungle (12/5/9) and our botlane alistar and vayne went a total of (2/25/3) # bronsforlife , this trolls drain my LP so fast im willing to give up lol, seek a real ladder play game with a good ranked system
