Whats the point of reveal items?

I am so sick of vision in this game. If you ask me, I'd say a reveal item is something that will allow you to catch a sneaky enemy by itemizing against them. But League seems to think reveal should be comparable to a flashlight on a sunny day. I'm talking about item 3023 and item 3715. These items seem like good specialization items specifically made to kill stealth users. However, if a unit goes stealth they are actually completely useless. item 3023 will hover around a stealthed target without being able to hit them making it completely useless and a item 3715 will only reveal a target so long as they aren't stealthed.

Examples: item 3023 will hover in an Akali bubble, but not fast enough or precisely enough for you to aim at them. item 3715 will stop revealing Wukong as soon as he uses Decoy.

What is the purpose of these items if they don't do the thing they specifically say they can? The one thing that's supposed to differentiate them from other items? If spells can reveal enemies, and keep them revealed, then why can't items?

You buy Skirmisher's Sabre for the damage reduction and burn, not for the reveal.

By comparison, there also isn't a lot of stealth-able champions in the game, and a lot of their power budget goes into their stealth capabilities.

well, that is part of their playstyle, but the thing is, you can pretty much always know where the stealthing enemy is going unless they're twitch or rengar, but both champs have a 3 second in combat status before the stealth activates and targeted effects will still take place on them, such as caitlynn's ult

and their position doesn't change, so area effects will still hit them

the champs that are really broken are champs that become untargetable as nearly all of them are tier #1

also, you can upgrade your free trinket to be a vision ward so you can activate it to see stealth I think? someone correct me if i'm wrong

i think i know whats going on item 3023 and item 3290 r 2 different items the one with the gold border detects stealth units and can not be used in SR

I don't think Challenging smite is made to reveal stealthed enemies because you need to see your target in the first place to smite them and thus only grants sight of the target. Similar for Twin Shadows, it's more of a scouting item instead of a reationary item vs stealth.

Upgraded red trinket and vision wards on the other hand are made to reveal invisible units.

id like to point out reveal and true sight are 2 different things, and ghosts following say a twitch around is very useful

OR you could just build a sweeper/pink wards
