New idea for ranked

Like most of the community, I'm tired of grinding my ass off to try and climb only to get troll teams and bad players every other game. Wouldn't be that bad if for some reason my wins didn't get me a measly 12 lp while losses take a whopping 23 on average, but since that's the reality it looks like I won't be climbing any time soon.

Unless...

I propose that we get an option to challenge our ranking. Kinda like a free promo series against players in the next tier. Maybe one per month or week, I don't know exactly how it would work, but it seems like a good option. I personally feel that I'm a much better player than my S5 ranking indicates, and given the chance to prove it (via this system) I could either A) find out that I'm actually a scrub and stay in S5 til my next promo or this thing comes up or B) whip a bunch of ass and have suspicions confirmed while ranking up. It just seems kinda dumb that the only way for me to get to a place with good players, where I can really play some League of Legends, is by wading through months of terrible games to finally get there.

It seems like a good idea on paper but I am sure that in a few hours there will be dozens of comments finding some dumb flaw with the idea.

Personally I'd be down for it

I had thought of this, and already had a counter point, the challenging team would be composed of JUST people trying to challenge. And also only skip 1 division each time. So if a bunch of silvers manage to carry you against a gold team you can't really be that much of a liability. And for the few that I'm sure will sneak through, they'll just get ruined and kicked back pretty quickly.
