a question about Gnar

I recently purchased Gnar, and i understand all of his abilities and what they do. However, one thing i don't understand is his random regen. i was playing a game and i turned into mega gnar, right after i turned into the small gnar i started healing up 68 hp per second. does anyone know why this happened, ive looked everywhere and cant find an answer. Thanks!
