I'm not understanding how IP works anymore...

Okay, so just when I thought I understood what was going on with IP and how it correlates to scores and whatnot, I check my match history and it just doesn't make sense anymore at all.

Now, some of these are victories and some are not. I wasn't sure if that mattered or not, but if it does, just look me up on lolking or something and let me know.

Moving forward, how is it that I can win a game with a positive score and 16 assists (4th game down) but then suck ass in a game with a negative score and 10 assists (1st game) and get less IP??? Is it because of how long the match was?* Sorry, I've been playing this on-and-off for three seasons now so I've missed a few updates in between.

But yea, someone please explain this to me.

Edit: *In my example above, I won both games, but the first game was around 35-ish minutes and I don't remember how long the 4th game was, but I think it was shorter.

first win of the day length of game and win/loss are the main factors

It's about how LONG the game is, if you suck balls in a 100 minute winning game you'll get around 120 IP but if you are amazing and win a game in 15 minutes you'll get 40 IP. If the game is under 7 minutes long you get no IP

Just a little hint* - (first win of the day)

It's purely based on outcome, queue type, map and duration.

Summoner's Rift games give more IP. Bot games and other modes give less.

Length of game, winning and match-making rating all contribute to the final IP.
