Early-Game vs. Late-Game Patch 5.22

Honest question for an honest answer. With all these changes to the game and how powerfully the game can snowball and end in one team stomping the other in less time, are late-game champs becoming obselete compared to the early-game champs now? I only started around of Butcher's Bridge coming out so I'm not the most knowledgeable in this, but I would believe that the early game is more powerful in killing the enemy, getting their tower due to nerfs to their resistances and then snowball from there. Am I wrong or no?
