Friendly Reminder About Splash Art Changes

Odyssey85··7 votes·1,081 views

Just to let everyone know, because it seems many have forgotten or plainly not know, the splash substitutes with the Asian variation are temporary, stress on TEMPORARY. The good people at Riot Games are working hard at making all old splashes fresh and new, giving them a fresh coat of that Photoshop paint. So until that happens, these substitutes will do, since they are, once again, temporary. Although I am not a fan of many of them either, I'm okay with them as long as they are not permanent, which they are not.

They don't always get around to the changes.

Some of the splashes are pretty good, but I think Riot should still hold true to their "these are placeholder splashes we're going to change them soon(tm)" promise.

take Renekton off that list, he's already on the list for skin splash art updates, including Bloodfury

Oh, I haven't been checking with updates lately.

I'm still livid about Blood Moon Akali. The atrocity we have now must go.

I tried telling them in one of my post but people still ignore the "temporary" part

I just hate the fact that a country can't accept skulls or blood and smoke in a fantasy game about gifting and killing. Imagine how the shadow isle champ splashes will have to look? What if there's a cool champ designed around drinking, blood or skeletons? Will we have to submit to another country's censorship?

You really make it sound like this is a game ending atrocity. It's really not. Not having champions who smoke or use skulls is not going to destroy the fundamental core of League.

While I agree this isn't the end of the world either, it still has some merit on the company. While I get Riot is international, and it's always good to have positive relations with other nations (that rhymed), there should be a line from which Riot is able to stand its ground, not always be bending to the whim of others. But it should be done in a more diplomatic way, to maintain good relationships, if that makes sense

Well, in China, skulls are flat out offensive. Like saying "fuck" in front of a cop offensive. So Riot is being diplomatic by not displaying skulls when they have that level of obscenity.

I understand that, but why darken Karthus' face more? He already got the VU that made him look more ghoul-like than skeleton, which I do like the look, but then what's the reason behind that? If it's to please China then that isn't right, he already does not resemble a skeleton any longer, just a zombified man with spirits and stuff around him
