What Will Happen Betweem Season 5 and 6?

When season 5 ends next week, are there gonna be no patches inbetween then and when season 6 starts. Also will we not be getting a new champ until later in season 6? Pls tell me. Perhaps this cute emoji will encourage rito to respond ｡◕‿◕｡

Inbetween there are some patches, typically revolving around new season changes, balancing, bug fixes, and new skins. I also believe there can be new champions added during the time. I don't recall when Rek'sai was released, but I feel like she was released in a pre season patch.
