Bard is my main support, so often in ranked I choose him and everyone says "no, bard sux" or "bard sup? afk".
Why is Bard hated so much? He has a decent skill set and good sustain. Is it just low elo or is he hated in every tier?

Ironclad Dragon1 votesBecause he relies heavily on his teammates to act on his moves, which requires communication. There isn't a lot of communication in Solo Que, so since he's not performing optimally, people think he's flat-out bad.

I have had my share of my team getting angry at me, once I ulted the enemies so that someone could get away and they run into my ult and died >.< Then he blames me and says "wtf why did u ult, gg we have no support"
redniwediS1 votesPeople don't understand Bard. That's pretty much the only reason. You'll find people like that at every tier, however they do thin out a bit as you go up.
From what I can tell it's the same group of people who don't like supporting for Kallista, or having a Tahm on their team. They would rather have full control over their champion at all times instead of sharing a piece of it in favor of having a bit more utility in certain situations.
