What does it mean to 1v9?
I heard that in order to get out of elo hell, you have to 1v9. I've really never understood that term. Like, how to play against your teammates and enemy at the same time?

One for all against Mordekaiser and all of your allies die becoming ghosts. This is a literal 1v9 situation.
Your own teammates feed the enemy team, so you have to do EVERYTHING.
You have to defeat the other team and the best efforts of your trash allies to throw the game.
Basically, low ELO soloq players are effectively bots - they have zero strategy, teamwork, or coordination, and you have to be far better than them to make any rapid progress against the luck-based feeding.
a normal game on summoners rift is 5v5. but your teammates sometimes end up playing so poorly it seems almost as if they are playing against you, so it ends up being as if it was you vs 9 other players.
