Gold V has got to be the most elo-hellish division.

It's so incredibly difficult to climb out of it unless you're significantly better than the others around you. And I mean like, a whole league above them.

This division just collects whoever got here somehow but keeps losing and sinks. It's all:

  • Players who made it to Gold and stopped trying.
  • Dynamic-queue boosted Bronzies.
  • Meta-abusers who don't know jack about the game but got here by spamming Ekko a few patches ago.
  • Stuck-up assholes who think they are good for getting here and refuse to listen.
  • Players who wanted to keep going but are disheartened by all of the above.

I think I'm starting to fit into that last category. It's so stupidly hard to play. I've done it last season and know how to deal with careless and asshole players, but given DQ and the crazy balance state this season, it's honestly really hard to deal with all the players who have no game knowledge but got here by spamming an overpowered pick or getting DQ-boosted.

That's usually how you climb, mate.

Disagree, I climbed out of gold 5 constantly. Id hit gold 4 and end up getting thrown back into gold 5

i know your pain i climbed from bronze 5 to gold 5 realized that there was a lot of gold that are obviously boosted.... lol worse then bronze im telling you. For instance had a kennan go straight ad...... and wonders why we lose. Or a adc who is going first time ez and we lsoe then later states i shoudlve been my main jhin.... umm why didnt you go jhin doesnt answer, however in champ select he said should i go jhin or ez, so one would assume he knew how to play ez nope... however my mmr was like gold1 ish so lol.

hehehe happy to hear I am not the only one having a problem. This my first season in gold (got in during preason but was only in it for a month before season 6 started). Have two accounts chililng in gold 5 right now. Games have been very random and you see all players you have described. I am still unsure which one of the players I am haha. I suppose this account was spamming lux mid before shiled nerf, and now a lot of elise/ezreal.

Idk I know I can compete here as getting out of silver has been fairly easy this season for me but I have yet to hit 100 lp in gold 5. I have not played a ton yet so well see.

Something people like you need to realize is that EVERY league sucks. There is no ELO-Hell there is no specific division that is just the worst thing ever.

You CAN carry yourself out of EVERY division some are just harder than others due to the mindset in each one.

Bronze - New players. Tutorial sucks ass. They don't know that they do terrible in the game they weren't taught/trained properly so naturally they'll think when they get a kill or two they're godlike and everyone who dies sucks dick. It's mainly Riot's fault for that

Silver - These people know better. They understand the basics of the game but they typically play on tilt insanely easy. Silver players SHOULD know better but a lot ACT like they don't know jack shit (ex, someone building armor vs a magic damage champion) someone WILL tilt about that shit. It's more-so individual knowledge that gets you through. That's why a lot of higher elo say to spam 1 champ. The more you know about the game/champ you play the easier it is.

Gold or higher - they all share the same mind set of "I'm in the top X % of the players to make it here therefore i'm good and the rest of you are trash that need to get on my back" while they can be rude, it's understandable where this mindset comes from. Majority of the game is silver and lower. If you get gold + then you shouldn't be playing like a level 10. People in this range are egotistical as fuck and have their standards set way high. If you don't meet those standards they want you gone.

TL;DR EVERY Elo sucks ass and has their huge issues. You either deal with it or get out of ranked because RIOT doesn't give 2 shits about it and won't fix it. Crying on the boards won't help. So either suck it up and continue to climb or stopped playing ranked or league in general

i've heard plat 1 is cancer due to the amount of people that think they deserve diamond, and how desperate they get to reach it

You have not played Plat.

It's much harder (That's what she said).

MunchCrunchLunch7/7/2016, 8:40:44 PM1 votes

i keep getting to gold iv and then going back to g5. i dont really mind it tho

if you want to know why its because bronzies get boosted to g5 just to get the free skin at the end of the season so you know they end up on your team sometimes and lose you the game

I mean, gold 5 was hard for me when I first got there and now plat 5 is exactly the same as gold 5 was.

I have notice considerably fewer problems once I hit Gold. Last season I got to Gold V at the very end of the season, so I never really played in it. That was my first season and I squeaked into Gold V and stopped playing ranked. I didn't want to risk losing Gold.

This season I have climbed a bit in Gold, floating between Gold IV and Gold III. I am in my Gold II promos right now. I think I placed in Bronze II this season and began to hit a bit of a wall around Silver III. But I think it was due to wildly inconsistent teammates. I eventually got to Gold, but it felt as if the people I played with in Silver were simply all over the board in terms of their skill.

I have noticed that I don't run into as many trolls in Gold and for the most part players are a bit more consistent.

The other thing I have noticed is that Gold players know how to play from behind, whereas in Silver most players do not. Silver players are really bad at assessing the state of the game and the player skill is such a mixed bag.

I have a smurf account that I use to play with some of my friends in Silver. I have climbed with it (I think it placed in Silver IV and I am Silver I now), but these games are quite possibly the most frustrating games I have ever played. I had forgotten how bad some Silver players could be. The biggest thing is the feeding. I would say for the most part Gold players rarely go 0-5 in early laning, but in Silver it just seems like feeding gets way out of control in half the games I play.

Gold V players are most likely the worst of the people in Gold simply because they have probably little experience playing in Gold. It took me several games for me to get a feel for the average player in Gold verse Silver. Some of those players will also be bounced out of Gold.

I don't think many of the players are "boosted", I just think that lower tier Gold players are closer to the Silver player base than the mid tier Gold player base.

Hey man,

Just got back to Gold myself last night and I remember the perils of low gold from last season. I know DQ is a buzzword right now but if you ever want to duo with me for some ranked games then feel free to add me :)

Regardless, best of luck fellow Xerath player

Anything less then Plat is crazy and even Plat is hit or miss.
