If you're a melee support, use the relic charges on the second wave instead of the first wave

I recently learned this from a friend. Instead of using the charges on the first wave to get the recharge cooldown rolling, use it on the second wave to get level 2 before your enemies. This way you also don't use up the proc and waste the heals.

This is especially useful for champions who go all in at level 2 (which is a lot of relic users).

Use 1 charge on the first wave. This gets the recharge rolling back sooner (since you'll be at your 2 stack max). You'll still have your 1 stack for that on wave 2, and you'll get your next stack 20-30 seconds earlier.

This.

That earlier cd also means you'll have a stack for the cannon

I use it first wave if I lost health from giving the jungler a fat, THICC, leash.

I use it on the first wave, because I might get poked when doing so later. Also, my adc might not let me.

Thanks I hear that a lot

If you are really pushing for level 2 first wave is better. because you will have the push advantage going into the second wave.

I think that may be true when the enemy is familiar with this strategy, but for most people I think the element of surprise is more effective. Hitting level 2 when they're only at like 60~70% XP is pretty unexpected.

I dont think you can out rush to level 2 by saving charges unless you are against a ranged lane. cause if the other oponent uses it on the first wave you will still be behind.

Don't most people clear the first wave by the time second one arrives, with or without using relic charges? For level 2 you need the first wave and 2 melee minions, so if they use it on the first wave, they need to start hitting melee minions to get the level advantage, whereas you can just quickly kill melees and hit level 2.

No... Use one charge on first wave. Then save until cannon minion. You can do one AA on each minion to help push level 2 but hitting 2 earlier doesn't really matter. Most people just run under their turret and come back at level 3 and out trade you anyways lel

That's what I always did to maximize gold output. The point of hitting level 2 this way is that your level 2 is unexpected (at least in lower elos). If they do expect it, you can just go back to securing cannons with relic procs. You don't miss out on much by doing this, and the gain is possible kill and/or summoners if they don't respond properly.

I have a Bronze friend who talks like you. Talks about lower elo this and lower elo that. Overthinks every little detail and yet doesn't know jack about how to actually play. I think you are overthinking things. Details don't matter until you hit upper plat.

I mean, it's a cheese strat that works pretty reliably. Sure, there's a lot more to the game than this one cheese strat, but I'm just sharing this as a small tip, not "you'll win every game with this comprehensive guide."

I'm Jax. I'm 40 minutes of cheese.
