Teambuilder was overrated, and I main two roles... so the ability to be able to float through ranked and only be exposed to two roles... only having to setup runes and masteries for two roles... will be smooth sailing on up the mmr ladder :)

It's ideal for people with two roles, but what about those with only one role? Or, more likely, one role they are really good with and then one mediocre role? It's a 50% shot at getting the role you want. Before, you had a way better chance, regardless of you position. (Unless, of course, you were last. Then you were screwed. But you had a 1/5 chance of being last, so still pretty good odds.) The reason I say that you had a better chance getting what you wanted is this: before, if you were first, you always got your role. If you were second, you had an 80% chance of getting your role. And so on. The odds were just better. Now, you get 50%. No matter what. That, coupled with the extremely long wait time makes this new select somewhat problematic.

I can play all roles, but I really only want to support. I want to pick one role and one role only, but I've gotten my fill position a number of times lately despite support being my primary.
Once again, Riot is forcing me to play the game their way- pick two roles, no more, no less.
