That doesn't mean that the current state of the game can't be better than it is now.

People aren't complaining about how previous seasons used to be better than this season, but are complaining about the direction this season is going in. With the new jungle changes along with mana reworks, people are starting to get riled up about how Riot is making a bunch of crappy changes (this is debatable, but this isn't the point of this post).

So please, next time before posting about how previous seasons used to be so much worse than this one, do everyone else a favor and refrain from misrepresenting why everyone is complaining.

Except a large number very much are. Which is why the argument of “past seasons were just as unbalanced” exists.

Many of the "arguments" are crying about how much MORE unbalanced the game currently is compared to where it used to be. There is merit to those threads.
