Please, GHOSTCRAWLER, just ANSWER THIS QUESTION

I have read a couple of times that you left Blizzard because you prefered Riot way to work about feedback, somethin that I feel right and honorable.

Is the game gonna come back to the old way to be ---> Long games, skill matter, being able to counterplay, people not able to oneshotting being 0-0, less RNG like the Elemental drakes, Zoe, crab etc. not everybody having 10 dash that also stun and heal your team...

Or your plan is to follow this route and make games stupidly shorts in which all that matters is to build assasin with electrocute and one shot first?

I think, like me, there's a big part of the (old) playerbase which is only playing hoping that this no-sense meta will change someday. I expected that after get all the boards first page full of people complaining about jungle changes or damage being so high you were gonna change it. But, patch after patch, I see that you only keep going in that direction, only enjoyable by... anyone?

This no sense meta has already make Rekkles stop play for a while, since all his champs are unplayeable after your changes. A lot of my friends are stopping play or playing so much less since it's bored to play the nobrain oneshot meta (Even if you're who is "ahead")

TL;DR: Are you gonna READ the boards?

Ghostcrawler does read the boards. Question answered.

Read it, but does he care enough to listen?

all those people outside with torches and pitchforks asking for my job are just rageposts and teens.

if I just bury my head in the sand (reddit) where any dissenting opinion is immediately banned... I can maintain my view that the game is moving in the right direction.

I left blizzard because I liked riots work ethic better, it had nothing to do with the community all looking at my changes, talents in particular, and also asking my head there. its the people who wrong, not me.

What a dumbass question. He takes the time to read it, so I'd imagine he is invested somewhat in it. Who reads a forums board for something they don't care about or have passion for?

I'm sure he listens. But I doubt he will cave into toxic rageposts and teen angst.

He can't cave to something he won't invest two pence in; he maybe only "reading" just to give the impression he cares. Dark? Maybe. Wrong? Maybe. But it sure is what it feels like right now this season.

Then how can he ignore a front page full of threads saying, with beautiful words, they changes to the jungle are trash and the damage is stupid high

Except he was the reason Blizzard feedback was badly handled.

While not every single decision can be his responsability, the general direction of the game was because otherwise what the heck did he do as lead developer?

GC has always been full of himself, he doesn't accept critics form the more flammable to the more understanding and open to discussion, he had mocked the playerbase over and over (like presenting himself as some1 who loves walking along the beach and nerfing paladins) and thus he earnt the reputation he has. He then went on acting as nothing was ever his fault, that there is always a team handling things and that ppl attacked him and his view of the game because he was the one putting his face on it.

He finds excuses, not feedback, not solutions, not discussions.

I never played WoW so I can't speak to what he did there. But looking at LoL and GUESSING what he did to WoW, I'm thinking "casual" player focused may not be entirely accurate. If anything, I think that makes the assumption of a LARGER target pool than is actually accurate. I think the problem with his design decisions (in LoL for sure, in WoW I can only assume) is that he's aiming to appeal to people who don't currently play the game. On the surface, this seems like a good/smart idea and if done correctly it CAN be a good idea. The problem is that I think the assumption is that people not currently playing are choosing not to play because they don't have the TIME to play this game. (I would assume the same was true with WoW which required a TIME commitment to really excel and get the most from the game)

The PROBLEM with that choice is that the number of people not playing this game because of a time commitment is relatively small, and the number of current players that will suffer from changing the time dynamic is very large. Either you make their initial investment worthless by making new players need zero time commitment to get level, or you change the game so drastically (so you can play quickly) that the existing playerbase no longer has the game they chose to play. And this is the core PROBLEM with the recent direction of league. It isn't the game that the longtime playerbase enjoyed playing. IF they can acquire new players at a greater rate than they lose them, then it is ok (from a corporate perspective), but if not, then the game will decline.

TL;DR - Growing a playerbase organically (and consistently) is hard, making big changes is "high risk, high reward"

What happened with WoW wasn't Ghostcrawler's doing. Ghostcrawler wasn't even in charge of WoW. He was lead systems designer, not lead designer. Which was a huge difference.

He was in charge of the team that made stuff like mechanics, game interface, items, etc. He didn't ruin WoW, that was Blizzard being Blizzard. Ghostcrawler didn't get the final say in balance decisions in Blizzard either.

For a comparison, it'd be like directing the frustration caused by Yasuo at the guys who were put in charge of making the mechanics for Yasuo work.

And Ghostcrawler isn't even in charge of Riot's balance department either. He's the Design Director, not balance head. RiotRepertoir is the Lead Live Gameplay Designer, AKA, the closest thing to a head of Riot's balance department that I'm aware of.

No but he will find some way to add mounts to the cash shop and remove even the runes because it's "too hard to balance bro."

Cause WoW has done soooo well since talent trees were removed.

Reading the boards isn't the same as answering the boards.

He could be reading the post right now for all we know.

His whole goal is to make the game more accessible to the casual player because it brings in more money for the developer. He ruined WOW by doing this and now he is on his way to ruining League. He makes the company money and that is why he gets hired on. He will make RIOT as much money as possible and then he will move on and ruin another game.

How are brainless one shots catered to the casual player?

Make up excuses for him if you want the truth is the guy is well... just like the gameplay in his game.

If I deciphered your poor English correctly my answer is, "To make things simple". Which the casual player needs to remain interested.

WoW was the first MMORPG with that large of a playerbase and the first I've ever played (coming from Diablo 2 and some console games like Crash Bandicoot etc), LoL was my first MOBA (even if before of that I tried a couple of matches of DotA but decided not to play it, I joined LoL right after Quinn release).

None of this games were punishing to new players and while yes, endgame raids required some preparation and dedication to the game in raid times, the whole thing was enjoyable both as a casual and as a hardcore. I've been kind of both during my gaming experience and I simply felt more accomplishements in doing what I had time to do instead of having to grind raids week after week getting angry at the incompetence I've met in PUGs.

GC is great in lowering the standards of a game be it as game design or game balance.

And ruining the experience for many but the casual gamer.

I ended up as a casual gamer that didn't like WoW nor is liking current League.

Casual players aren't just ppl who like things served to their hands or simple&impactful gameplay, if you turn the game into a state where you barely need to learn how to play then this ends being a game and starts being a farm-o-rama.

Never said all casuals. I said many casuals. "MOST" casuals want simple. They are catered to because there are more of them and in turn bring in tons of money. Good for business and bad for gamers who don't want this BS. I am just happy that League is free to play because RIOT will not get any more of my money till they fire this person ruining their game.

He responds to threads that first make it to the front page of the boards, then brought to his attention on reddit. The only reds that matter use reddit instead of the boards.

Well I had a front page thread with 120 upvotes or so saying something about him, still didnt get an answer. So I though that writing it this way would be more effective x)

At least I'm not the only old dog still holding out on that string of hope.
