This is the setup I used when I played him (though it has been a couple months):

  • Runes: Lifesteal Quints, Armor Pen Marks, Flat Armor Seals, Flat MR Glyphs
  • Masteries: 12/18/0 (with Stormraider's Surge and CDR)
  • Starting Items: Cloth Armor or Ruby Crystal, Health Potions

Rush CDR and focus on farming early-game (practice freezing and last-hitting near/under your tower). You should have 150-200 Q-stacks, a mid-tier defensive item and Sheen by around 10 minutes if you are doing well which is generally enough to start winning the matchup.

While AD marks may help you last-hit early, you should be able to do without them with a little practice. At that point, Armor Pen marks are far more valuable since it will make the damage provided by Q, Sheen and your ultimate (AD) far more valuable.

Lifesteal is pretty nice for sustain. While you already have some from your passive, the additional healing is quite helpful.

You should focus on building tons of tankiness in runes and in-game items. Your damage comes from your farming your Q up, and your cc is just the W. Just frontline, scare those enemies off when they're trying to protect towers.

I am a Gold IV Nasus Main for reference.

Nasus's damage is 60/40 Attack dmg and Magic Dmg. So:

  • Red's Hybrid Pen no question you must take these if you want your damage to mean something later in the game.
  • Yellow's- Armor, Armor per lvl or Health per lvl. Flat armor against hard AD match ups, scaling for easier ones and health for AP match ups.
  • Blue's- Mix of Flat CDR and Scaling CDR to get 10%. It is a complete waste to go any higher.
  • Quints- Life Steal are strong in all situations but if you are not used to playing Nasus and controlling the wave then Armor or Magic Resist depending on the match up.

Masteries- ALWAYS 18 in resolve Storm Raiders only helps against slows not all CC. You want the tenacity in the Resolve Tree as it stacks with Mercury Treads and Elixir of Iron. I prefer 12 in ferocity but you can benefit from 12 in Cunning, it is really preference. I personally like the extra LS, AS and damge on slowed targets.

Your sheen item should always go to IBG. TF takes too long to build, too expensive and split pushing is not that valid of a tactic this season. Build him to be able to push large waves by mid game and helps his team peel and take objectives. My personal build typically looks like this. item 3025 item 3065 item 3111 item 3748 item 3742 item 3512 item 2138 . This is a great all around build and is essentially the order I build in.

Best of luck m8!
