Is Ranked Fair?

Last game, our team had an average winrate of about 40%, the team we were facing on the other hand, had an average winrate of over 50%. I had the highest winrate on my team... a measly 48%. The lowest winrate on their team was 51%, with the highest being 76% and the second highest a 66%. This is obviously very one sided as their team plays consistenty better than us, yet, we get matched up with them. Shouldn't their mmr be way higher than ours? The way that match making works in ranked seems very one sided (especially when your jg picks Twitch into Rengar after Regar was locked in and then has 16 cs at 10 min). I really wanted to climb before the next season started, as I usually do very well in ranked, but I feel that Elo Hell does exist and that I am in it. How can I get our of Silver?

It would be fair if I was able to simultaneously play the top, mid, jg, ADC and support all the same time to guarantee no one on my team is drunk

But I'm never so lucky

How often does this happen though. Most of the games that I'm in are fair, and I'm lower ranked than you are. Maybe it could have been a special case as well, especially since you had a Silver II player whereas they had a Bronze 1. I don't know, but the mmrs should be about the same based on the rank plus the winrates. Autofill may have also happened to some people. As to your last question, I have no idea. Ranked is normally fair, but sometimes strange things happen.

I agree... I don't have ranked, but I can see where you are coming from, that match doesn't really seem very fair :( hope you are able to escape elo hell

You can't get much better matchmaking than that.

Try to keep in mind the elo you are currently in is easily 1v5able once you start to get better.

I mean the Rengar (with the big win %) is bronze 1. So yeah his MMR is higher and thats why he was playing vs you guys (silver 4 area).

Elo hell does not exist. If you feel you are in elo hell then you need to improve since you've hit the proper elo for your skill level. If it's possible for someone to boost your account then you can not be in elo hell.
