The Miss Fortune "rework" is nothing more than a band-aid with a massive hidden nerf (Copy f Reddit)

So I've played a lot of MF, over 500 games I would estimate, and am current on her. These changes are nothing of any consequence. They fix none of her issues, and do not help her problem points in any way.

Miss Fortunes problems come from three areas:

  1. Miss Fortune has no clear item paths due to obscure scaling.
  2. Miss Fortune is a low mobility ADC with no escapes.
  3. Miss Fortune is a teamfighter who cannot deal the correct level of damage in the crucial early phase of the fight.

To expand on this.Miss Fortune gets increase magic damage from AD scaling, via impure shots, which is a nice little version of mixed damage, but the damage is too low to make any actual difference. Her ult scales with AP for no understandable reason.

A passive of a free pair of mobi boots is terrible on an ADC, since the moment she gets hit,she gets slowed, and with no escapes and self peel limited to one weak slow, she is too easily closed on and killed. The sole consolation is the grievous wounds allowing her to duel enemies other adcs would be killed by. But now thats gone.

Finally, her ult deals nowhere near enough damage for the difficulty of landing it. Curse of the Sad Bullet Time is no longer a thing, as even low elo players know to spread out against tank engages, and a 1400 range spell is no longer "long range". Even if you do get it to hit, it deals pitiful damage compared to two seconds of Crit auto attacks from other adcs.

Miss Fortune could have been easily upgraded into a modern ADC with some simple changes.

  1. The magic damage from impure shots, both on auto attacks and ult benefit from crit chance the same way ashe does. This rewards following standard ADC build paths of AD/AS/Crit, rather than having to attempt to stack AD/MPen/PPen in some oddball combo.

  2. Miss Fortune should be rewarded for standing and fighting instead of running away. Her Passive is to set her up for the fight, then she stands there and blasts you away. Grievous wounds on the impure shots active helped, but placing more utility into make it rain, such as a hybrid shred of some sorts would definitely help her go toe to toe with people who manage to dive through to her.

  3. Others have said that the number of Bullet Time waves should increase with As, but thats lucians gig. A simple base value buff and AD scaling would be enough, when combined with the hybrid shred of make it rain and the crit chance scaling of impure shots. It is difficult to get two seconds of uninterrupted channel, at only 1400 range (to the backline),as an ADC. It should be rewarded.

Miss Fortunes game-play identity is completely anchored in the big teamfight.Unlike other teamfight ADCs such as Graves or Varus, Miss Fortune is not mobile, is not bursty, and is not focused on control. She is a widespread engine of destruction, who stands there and and blasts away. If you close on her, she has the tools to fight you, and if you run, her passive should help her chase you down.

While the new VFX are nice, the mechanical changes do not help modernise this old champion.

Bait title makes no mention of the actual nerfs. Here's the changes as i see them in the article: [New] Strut now has increased scaling based on level, and only falls off when Miss Fortune takes direct, non-periodic damage. (BUFF) [New] If the first shot kills the target, the bounce damage increases. (BUFF) [New] Activating Impure Shots enables Strut.(BUFF) Impure Shots doesn't have GW listed(NERF)

Unless I'm missing something here it seems like you're blinded by one nerf even though she got buffing in other areas. At worst this looks like more of a net neutral balance change that makes her less of a hard counter to the likes of a soraka.

Miss Fortunes problems come from three areas:

  1. Miss Fortune has no clear item paths due to obscure scaling.

that is actually one of her strengths, not being forced onto standard-buildpaths (though they sure work aswell), but actually having some more viable options

  1. Miss Fortune is a low mobility ADC with no escapes.

and she makes up for it with a really strong laningphase, good gloabl mobility and massive dmg-potential in teamfights + the ability to retrigger strut infight will give her access to quite some mobility

  1. Miss Fortune is a teamfighter who cannot deal the correct level of damage in the crucial early phase of the fight.

that´s just plain wrong, she has access to a lot of upfront burst vs squishies and good zone-control tools for the fight

there´s no need for "modernization" if all you want is a streamlined run-of-the-mill carry

Playing on the PBE I really wished I still had Grievous Wounds while Aatrox was burst healing every two autos even though I was ahead of him

There are exactly three things that the new rework needs to make MF amazing (I think we're headed in the right direction, though)

Are you ready?

When you last hit a minion with Q, the bounce needs to prioritize champions. Missing the bounce on a champion and instead hardpushing your lane by oneshotting a caster minion feels bad man, especially when the champion and the minion in question were right next to each other and both are completely viable targets. RNG SUCKS.

W needs to PROTECT strut for the duration of the AS steroid (pls rito, being able to instantly have 70 stacks is nice but it would be better this waaaaay)

R needs an AD ratio (IT CAN BE LOW PER SHOT EVEN! PLS RITO!)

If MF gets ahead in her lane, she can dominate fights without many changes due to the level reliant nature of her ultimate's damage and scaling. These changes would slightly improve MF's lategame, but more importantly would reward MF players who were using Q to last hit with champs in range, and also give MF some mobility options in fights that weren't disabled by AAs.

This rework, particularly the changes to Impure Shots, is retarded. I mean literally retarded. I mean that only someone with a malfunctioning brain could possibly think that changing MF's AS buff to only affecting her next three attacks is a good idea.

MF is inarguably the worst ADC in the game. She needs a rework on the level of the one they're giving Gangplank to fix her myriad of issues. Instead they're fucking around with her kit, gutting her ONE advantage (her ability to stand and duel against champions like Warwick and Swain) and doing NOTHING to fix the mind-blowingly obvious flaws in her kit (for FUCK'S SAKE Riot, make it so minion autoattacks don't cancel Strut, it's not fucking rocket science!). She needs help badly and instead they're nerfing her. She's going to drop from "worst ADC" to "worst champion PERIOD".

I've seen some shit from Riot's reworks in my time, from the Veigar and Zilean "making everything a skillshot makes things better!" rubbish to the Karma "let's delete her from the game and make an all-new champion with almost nothing in common with her to replace her" rework, but this is the first one that has made me genuinely question the design team's competence and intelligence. How could ANYONE think this rubbish is a good idea?! And yet we're going to get it anyway, because once Riot set their minds to something they never, EVER change them.

Good night, sweet titty-princess. It was fun while it lasted, but it's time for you to go in the bin.

MF is clearly an AP champion

Hybrid shred on make it rain could make her borderline broken because everyone would just pick her with a high damage teamcomp and say goodbye to the enemy. It actually sounds really good.

The ult scales off of AP because of how good it was when it scaled off of AD. Riot didn't want her to be a ult bot.
