Because no top laner who doesn't main a ranged champion wants to deal with darius.
Hell darius is probably half the reason why ranged top lane counterpicks even started in the first place.
Because he's still annoying as fuck to play against as a melee (which most toplaners are, not counting that cancerous ranged crap), even if he's absolute trash post-laning.
Bronzies don't know how to kite and we all know that once Darius can reach his target they're done.
Most of the bronzies ban off what they got rekt by, and darius does that.
While ranged top laners are pretty fucking cancerous, many melees struggle against darius, and certain FoTM champs like rumble are hard countered by darius, so he still has his place, even if he isnt in the limelight anymore on the pro scene.
His teamfight can still be a monstrosity with noxian might.
Counters popular top laners like Irelia or Yasuo while being very popular himself, is popular and generally very abusive in lane versus melee champions, etc.
he beats almost every melee top lane pretty hard. after a cpl kills he can 1v2 the top laner and the jungler. and sometimes he can 1v3 people.
