However... Greed is a tier 3 skill. This means you need to invest into the utility tree.
Why not reward supports by buffing it with lower skill point cost or higher GP/10?
More people would get it as farming roles and what not, increasing their gold gain when they already farm CS. Gold advantages would increase where it really shouldn't. Though it would increase only slightly, it's still enough.
They are more than likely going to overhaul skill-trees again with the new pre-season coming soon.

Greed 3/3 1.5g/10 sec It would take 60g / 1.5g = 40 ticks = 400 seconds (6:40) for Greed to be worth as much as Fleet of Foot.
tl;dr: Greed has a higher Gold Value per point after generating gold for roughly 6:40.
