new poppy gameplay

im loving this new poppy so far, i was skeptic cuz i was one of the few who liked the old poppy

this being said i didnt expect to find "bugs" with her because she went on PBE and what not

i put bugs in quotations because im not sure whats intended and whats not intended but heres my findings

Q - doesnt always cast in direction of mouse (quick-cast - 99% success rate but the odd time it casts where shes facing instead - pretty sure this is a bug)

W - didnt block leona or amumu self-pull (no idea if this is intended but i had assumed it would block their entrance)

E - no changes, works as expected

R - fully charged ult knocked leona back only a touch further than a quick charge cast before her backwards momentum just stopped and she fell straight downwards ( pretty sure this was a bug because in the poppy champ spotlight it shows poppy knocking back darius to explain how jinx ult wouldnt hit him untill he landed and he had travelled much further than when i had ulted leona)

and last but not least, her passive, i love this, its really cool, but i have one tiny issue with it ( probably a personal problem ) when im in melee range and the passive goes off and the buckler gets flung out of battle becoming useless since going for the buckler allows my opponent to get to safety, so what i personally think is the passive shouldnt go off while in melee range since you cant choose to melee or throw the buckler when its ready so this way u can take a small step away to use the buckler or u can stay in close and keep meleeing untill u need the buckler to secure the last hit from under the tower or w/e the reason i just feel like if i CAN throw a buckler i should be able to choose when to throw it ( even if by mechanics and not actively choosing by pressing a button )

anyways, thanks for the update, i miss the old poppy but am enjoying this new one as well and i feel like a great job has been done here

if you're reading this and havent played poppy i suggest you try her out ( i play her pure tank and really enjoy it with the new passive, when u gain the shield its equivelent to 15% of your max hp )

thx for reading have a nice day :)

I am really hating the dash block.

Maybe it will become a key part of the game and something we learn to play around.

More likely, I think it will be a perma-ban for pros and people will replicate that behavior.

There are simply too many champions now who rely on dashes do even the most fundamental part of their kits. Poppy is now a counter to all of them, even if she's not laning against them.

The one thing that may save her in the professional scene is that she could be a first-pick or ban, and if she's first picked the enemy team can pick dash-less champions against her. That may work since champions like Brand are quite strong (or outright OP in Brand's case) right now, but a full team of immobile champions against a team of Poppy + mobile champions + immobile punishers like Thresh is probably going to be pretty lopsided.

In general, I HATE any champion that invalidates other champions. Yasuo and old Darius were examples of this. Poppy now joins the club.

i love your thought process on this :)

and i agree with it mostly though i personally dont think that dash block will change things that much, more change the way players play around poppy than who they would pick i would think

i should note that im an ARAMer and its easier to play around the dash block since u can keep track of when its been recently used (as opposed to poppy just came from down river, is it up?) and how the whole team can figure out how likely / when its likely to be used
