Is AP Mordekaiser any good among the various other mid-laners?

Ok, I just played a game where I got a few kills here and there and good cs about 230 i think with Mordekaiser. He feels quite bad to play honestly though, because he has the shortest range of ANY mid-laner. I sucked in mid vs an annie who was able to roam freely though at the end, I managed to out-damage her and got a kill on her. Even she said that she DID NOT expect that damage. She even burnt her flash and heal too. Once I got sorc boots, Liandry's, Rylai's and Morello's, I was able to 1v1 their garen on 40% health WITHOUT my ulti and he used it one me but I didn't die, like that was confusing. TO BE FAIR, though, their adc was afk and their yi was well, retarded. Is it any good on an average, any Morde mains out there, please tell me. Morde has hybrid scalings on his abilities and his base ad is quite high about maybe 125, so that makes the e and q make it all the more painful.

While we're on the topic, I want to ask if AD Morde is good. In my head, I imagine it to be something like Ninja Tabi's, Statikk Shiv, PD, IE, Death's Dance, and BOTRK. Would this build be good?
