Thoughts on how to Balance Lethality

I don't want to write a full 5 page essay so...

It's a pick one and see how it goes, not apply it all at the same time.

-Increase armor values -Lower gold values for armor based items -Revert Lethality back to Armor Penetration -Increase gold value of Lethality items or AD items in general -Lower Lethality values -Lower AD values on Lethality items

-Increase armor values

You can already get an absurd amount of armor, and armor already counters lethality.

-Lower gold values for armor based items

Armor based items are already fairly cheap.

-Revert Lethality back to Armor Penetration

Lethality is worse than armor pen, there's just more of it.

-Increase gold value of Lethality items or AD items in general

AD items are already more expensive than most AP items. the 3 lethality items cost 2900, 3100, and 3250 gold. That's expensive.

-Lower Lethality values

They're already doing this. Presumably after lowering youmuu's to 15, they'll see if that balances things at all, then they'll adjust it from there.

-Lower AD values on Lethality items

AD values on lethality items are already low compared to other AD items.

Armor increase = late game

Gold decrease = mid game/recovery

Reversion = Lethality scales too well. Armor Pen is strong early game because low armor values, but as the game progresses it becomes weaker. Lethality starts out pretty weak, but as the game progresses it just becomes way too efficient.

Gold Increase = Raising the price is to try and prevent snowballing. Seeing as most Lethality items build out of item 3134 they're incredibly efficient because there is no weak point in the builds. item 3814 is the only one with a clunky build but even then it's still good because you can opt between more damage or more res before you finish the item.

Lower AD = Lethality is on the higher end of AD values. If it gave between 40-50 AD it'd be considered low. All finished lethality items give 60+ AD while the highest AD items give 70-75. It's a better move to go for lethality because it's basically an extra +10-20 AD.
