Could someone please explain to me how the game grade and champion point system works

Hello,

So today i played a game of league, i played Malphite Malphite top. In this game i went 14/0/12 i had 14.5K gold and 147 farm. I did the last hit on 2 turrets helped with baron helped with drags and helped with other turrets. most kills on the team least deaths on the team 3rd on assists.

now all that wasn't to "gloat on my AMAZing skills (he said sarcastically)" but it was to give background information, because that game i wasn't awarded S or S- witch i was hoping for. Im not doing this to complain I'm doing this because i don't understand why i didn't receive it. Int he game there was also a Zed Zed on my team who did get an S rank but he was 13/5/9 less kills less assists more deaths than me he didn't get any tower or dragons but he got an S rank. In other games where i haven't done as good as that malaphite game but i still have gotten S and or S-.

So if anyone knows why i didn't get an S or how the system works it would be great if you could comment at let me know because i am confused and i would like to know how it works and reasons why i don't get the S just not leave it up to "the roll of a dice".

Thanks, Skullcrusher02

CS is one of the biggest factors. If the game is over 35 minutes long you should have over 200 CS. I've gone 23/3/17 with Fiora with around 130 CS and got an A+ but also gone 6/1/11 with Fiora with around 240 CS and got an S. So CS is really important

Your grade is determined based on your relative performance compared to all other players on the same champion in the same role (so in your case, you're being compared to all other malphite top performances). So the top 2% of performances get S+, top X% get S, top Y% get S- and so on, so it's all relative, rather than particular numerical cut offs to get any given grade. Some champions popular at high elos can have some pretty intense performance requirements to get S grades as a result of that.

As for what you were lacking in, lots of factors go into grade, but many of them are per minute, and so it's possible you ended up having a relatively low cs/min depending on how long the match actually was as the other poster suggested.
