I enjoy playing urf that isn't against a Lux,Ezreal,Nidalee,Velkoz,Fizz in every. single. game.
At least the random means I get to play with/against different champs each time, even if there are a few popular champs that tend to pop up more often.
The random is what keeps me coming back, excited to see what I'll get next and what kind of crazy hilarity will ensue. Regular urf had me bored quickly feeling like it was the same thing every single match.

I enjoy Arurf, I like the random part the most. What we need is bans, if you wanna play fizz or fiora go play a bot game I will always make sure those 2 champions are banned. I'm on the verge of just afking when I have to play vs them because I would rather be banned than ever play urf vs them.
I honestly like it better as it is now. I love the cannon, as people won't just all take tp and compared to URF with pick you won't just see the same champs over and over, but you also get a shot to play champs that were previously taken out of URF or that were just permabanned. Playing vs Fiora, Eve, Galio etc. was fun if you could play them yourself at some point, but seeing the same bs over and over got old pretty fast. I found quite a few decent and fun champs by getting random champs. Bardo is my champ of URF rotation rn.

It's not coming back... ever.
Riot does not like how regular URF causes a decline in active players.
I think they should just kill this mode altogether, it's unfun.
Only way they could ever bring back regular URF is by disabling the broken champions server side.
I don't think they will want to disable that many champions to keep the mode somewhat fair.
So it's better that regular URF stays dead.

I like the randomness of arurf for 2 reasons.

This version is fine, I haven't had any issues with it yet. BUT I will agree with you that regular choose your champ urf, was probably the better idea. I was hoping that they'd bring it back maybe for the games 10th year anniversary, but since that's coming up in a week, I highly doubt it.
I only got my main once in ARURF so far.
Its never coming back, Riot has made that pretty clear.
I don't like arurf but riot has been pretty clear real urf is never coming back.. Move arurf from SR map to HA map. ARURF and the randomness would be more tolerable if you and teammates were in the same lane rather than watch one or two lanes feed making the game even more lopsided.
