Combine ghost and cleanse?

Ghost is a spell that is very lacking in comparison with flash. Especially since any slow makes ghost useless.

Also cleanse by itself isnt that good. Since if you are hit with a CC you still die most of the time from being mobbed.

Would combing these 2 spells (covering there weakness) make it good enough that people will choose between flash and cleanse/ghost?

Im pretty sure flash being the most dominant spell in the game ruins the point of even having different spells to choose from.

Ghost is fantastic on champions that need help to stick/kite opponents (Singed, Vi, Nasus). Reducing the cooldown to 90-120s would make it a viable competetor to Flash. (Less surprise factor, but with double or more uptime.)

I've found cleanse to be pretty nice against certain champions (Morgana) with long, single target (Morgana) roots and high (Morgana) damage over time (Morgana) area of effects (Morgana). However in general use it is inferior to heal.

Buffing cleanse to remove everything QSS removes (Such as Zed's Death mark and supression) would probably help it see more use.

If you are able to run ghost and cleanse in one spell, welcome to the league of Master Yi and tryndamere... That is a scary place I really don't want to see.

flash will be better than ghost until riot completely removes walls, or wall hopping, from summoners rift. (IE: never)

ghost is actually an exceptional summoner. the only real downside is that you can't navigate terrain with it.

The counter to someone using ghost is cc and slows. Cleanse already gives heavy tenacity AND cleanses most cc's ; adding it to ghost seems like overkill.

@Jaminin Making cleanse remove deathmark/suppression would be terrible design. You'd allow players to see anyone with those effects and take one summoner spell to make their ultimates 100% useless. Currently, QSS allows counterplay, but forces you to take it (or a support to take mikaels) if you want to have immunity to getting caught out.

Cleanse to remove all debuffs, not just disables I think needs to happen. Any dot, Grievous Wounds everything that isn't beneficial to your champion and stop anything from being applied for a second. Maybe half a second. That's just my opinion. If not then Cleanse isn't completely useless, it's probably the most skillful Summoner Spell, if timed just perfectly it's as if your opponent missed. The CD should be reduced if anything though.

Ghost is amazing, I run it on TF (Saves me at least once a game) and Kat (She has a GW already so ignite is useless) and on those two it's either an escape or a gap closer. If used with Distortion enchantments on boots they become very reliable to take risk.

Cleanse needs buffs but Ghost is fine in my opinion.

Would really enjoy a buff (This one too) to Ghost. However, then you'd start seeing ADCarries run Flash/Ghost. -.-

Ghost is great on Poppy when she uses her ult.

agreed, ghost could use some sort of buff, even Tier 3 Boots upgrade for ghost (ghost+cleanse) would work good, more than the speed increase on those boots...

In general T3 boots are lame, should be more diverse. One upgrade should be tenacity, one for improving summoner spells, maybe even one that can move through minions/players, etc.

There could be so many changes to boots in general.

Oh might I add, they could just allow u to buy basic boots with basic speed and then buy upgrades to boots, aka buy cooldown, buy atk speed, buy tenacity, etc. you could just keep stacking on the additions to boots.

I rather like the "summoner Spell" collection from Dawngate, and they have one along this line. Blitz: Grants move speed buff and prevents non-suppression CC for 2 seconds. Of course, they also have hourglass as a summoner spell, Plus Barrier and Ghost are an AoE Team Buff.

I prefer their suppression system as well. The only way to remove suppression is to Kill the Suppressor. Granted, they only have 2 suppression abilities at current. Viviyana who uses it as a stun/heal and Moya who removes herself and another champ from play.

Ew, no. Any mid laner could just take flash/ghost and it'd be pretty much impossible to ever gank them.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Flash/Ghost became standard on ADCs, too. And potentially some top laners.

Not at all. Scarcity magnifies the impact of every choice you make. A top laner now can chose between safety and kill pressure - without flash, they could have both in the form of Ignite/TP. Apart from Flash just being more interesting gameplay wise than pretty much any other SS, its existence means that choosing summoner spells is much more meaningful.

I like the suggested change. It adds a nice tradeoff where when you use ghost to engage you can't use the cleanse effect anymore. Ghost isn't too effective on squishies for an escape anyways and cleanse doesn't matter that much on tanks.

I don't like it. I would honestly just pick Ghost/Flash as an ADC instead because of the amazing kite/cleanse ability. Sure I won't have heal anymore, but support can take it and mid can take exhaust if its needed. A better option would probably be to remove flash as it is such a staple for everything, but I don't think this solution would be good either, as it would make the game less mobile and make anyone without gap closers significantly worse.

What about providing the summoner spells with a category (primary & secondary spell, with the rule you can only take one primary summoning spell). This way you can design more summoning spells without having to take in amount they could be abused together.

Primary:

  • Teleport (maybe even a slight cd buff again to compensate for this change)
  • Flash
  • Ghost/Cleanse
  • Revive/Clairvoyance

Secondary:

  • Barrier
  • Exhaust
  • Heal
  • Ignite
  • Smite
  • Clarity (This actualy need a buff. I was thinking about adding a 600 range shield that soaks x amount of damage, bit like barier but than AOE. The shield could start with a lower value but slightly increase over levels.)
  • Garrison*

What about making Flash like Recall (i.e. baseline for all champions)?

When the game first started, there was an item called Blue Pill, and Blue Pill was the only way to go back to base without walking or dying. Recall didn't exist yet. Riot removed Blue Pill and made Recall baseline instead, and because of that change, everyone gained a sixth item slot.

With Flash baseline, everyone has two summoner spells again. The choices become far more varied. Since Caitlyn doesn't need Flash, she can carry Clairvoyance for use with her ult and still have Heal. Since Sona/Soraka don't need Flash, they can carry Clarity to harass bot lane all day long early and bully the enemy laner out of farm. Karthus (and Soraka/Gangplank/Ashe/anyone with a global ult) can go Revive. They can die in a teamfight, instantly res, and blow their ultimate from across the map to help their team.

That provides uses for all those rarely used summoner spells, while also not making Mordekaiser unplayable.

Ashe approves of having cleanse+ghost. i hate flash all you do is get slowed an fucking get caught up to anyways. even on ezreal E if they hit you with a slow as you E they will catch you in no time at all.
