I'll start with playing in bronze2 as a support is terrible mostly because if your ADC is terrible no matter how much you set kills up, somehow they manage to mess it up. So any advice for a support main? I'm slowly able to climb just by having synergy with some ADCs that i help get fed and team fights I try my best but I feel like its a slow climb and I really enjoy support. I've been in bronze 2 for a a couple of weeks now and I can't seem to move up.
Miror B1 votesBest thing you can do is worry about the entire map and not just that one part. People tend to forget that the support is supposed to help the entire team (I like to think of it as a "secondary jg" ), so if you can assist the jg with things like warding or ganking mid, it'll often pay off huge even if your ADC ends up dying a few times.
El Leche Man1 votesThanks I never really thought of that, see I'm just a bronzie I do ward and ward all the way up to drag but I should ward more. The only down side is that being in bronze most ADCs get tilted if you leave :/

Having a traditional support on a team in bronze is like making a team with only 4 players when it gets to late game. Here are some self reliant supports you can try if you want to....

Since you are supporting in Bronze, I would work on getting good at the self reliant supports or the supports that bring skirmishing power without the need for too many items. That would include the champions in my first and second list.

BestTristMyHaus1 votesUgh, Zilean. If you want to be a true "support" (like setup kills like you're talking about) don't play Zilean. If you wanna do poke, play Sona or Lux. They have more utility. If you wanna try to hard carry as support but still setup a good adc, then play Blitzcrank. I've only barely had enough decent Zileans to not make me still hate that champion.

El Leche Man1 votesLmfao everyone asks that I use it to help top lane if we are winning bot, I've come in many times and saves top lane I tp in and ult them I land a stun they come back and free kill top, works most of the time and I like zilean because his utility is amazing I have slows speed UPS damage and stuns and a clutch revive ult. I just need a good ADC other wise I'm useless
BestTristMyHaus1 votesAs an adc main, I explicitly ASKED if support should help other lanes (specifically mid, but the point holds) if bot is winning. The overwhelming response was NO (I admit I'm not sure I agree) and if Bot is ahead Support should either help adc snowball MORE or build self up. It sounds like you WANT to play JG. Bard is the only supp that has a true "reason" to be wandering off that far (the complete OPPOSITE end of the map) from the adc. (as an adc, I should be TRYING to stay with you (or vice versa) so I don't die)
I can play solo Bot for a while, I'm not someone who wants supp right next to me at ALL times. But getting TP just so you can help top farm kills is silly. Top SHOULD be able to handle lane on their own, that's why they WANT Top. If they can't JG should back them up, ESPECIALLY if Bot is ahead. If you're talking after the 20 min mark, then you shouldn't need TP because everyone is wandering. Again, if you want to be a SUPPORT then learn to play with

While you're at it, learn to upgrade your damn trinket.
But seriously, learn JG, if your straight-up core mental mechanic is to get someone (be it you or someone else) the kill, then work on the role that really does only that. Support needs a LOT more utility to the team than simply setting up a damage dealer in a 2v2 or 2v1.
(And no offense intended to JG in the above, I personally hate the role because my rotations and overall map awareness needs too much work)

Also yes I know I always forget to get blue trinket and I'm working on a new build so Ihave more utility and less damage. Going back to the first thing I've found to comes in handy I have slows and speed UPS if I really need to slow them down might not have the ability exhaust gives but it slowslike exhaust. And I follow up with a stun so it works out
Amelie1 votesYou're not gonna get anywhere fast as support in Bronze.... :| Simple as that. The ADC players are generally terrible until high Gold. You have to play something that will hard-carry your team, not your ADC. Your ADC is your support.
Basically, you need to play another role, or not play a traditional support. For example, mages or bruisers work very well as support. I would also avoid Zilean if you truly want to climb. He requires a LOT of coordination with your teammate(s) to use well. If you wanna do damage/stuns, there are better picks, and they are already posted in this thread.
