Competitive Integrity in Ranked
....There is none. There never was any to begin with. I don't know why everyone says, "DQ undermines the competitive integrity of ranked," when there was literally no integrity in ranked to begin with. Am I wrong? Please tell me.
Yes, I admit i'm a salty butthole that I got paired with an Ezreal who went 0/7 by the 6min mark, DC'd for 6 mins, came back and saw we were turning around a 4v5, asks to FF, then feeds more when we refuse....Yet this is reflected on my own rank and it means I'm where I should be.
I'm a salty butthole because one of my recent bot lanes loses to a soraka ADC who rushed IE, with a sona support. Leave it to the Soraka/Sona botlane to snowball the game by going 7/3 in laning phase..Yet this is reflected on my own rank and it means I'm where I should be.
Honestly I've come to accept that 0 LP Silver V should be my elo home, because whenever I manage to win a game I get slapped back down because of people like this. The notion that, "I can control my destiny in this game and where I end on the ELO rankings" is total crap. If I get paired with the Ezreals or Sorakas of the world every game, then it is literally impossible. No integrity whatsoever. I love stressful competitive games, I love the thrill and excitement of making game-changing decisions - but this just isn't fun. It's not fun.
If I'm playing an MMORPG, as some of you probably know, you can control your own destiny. You want that new PvP set? Go farm whatever you need and get the gear. You want this or that? Make a plan then go do it. No one can stop you except yourself. Yet in Riot, I have to trust 4 other strangers to at least be competent.
What are the odds of getting matched on a team where your team mates...
- Don't AFK
- Don't Intentionally Feed (rather they're having a bad game or not)
- Don't Troll
- Don't flat out suck.
The odds are not in my favor.

This argument is complete bullshit. The notion that I should have to play well above the expected level that I'm at in order to climb is not healthy. The reason why we have different tiers and divisions is to divide up the range of skill levels. Bronze players typically play and act like this..., silver players can start to understand this, gold players are getting the hang of this, plat players should be able to do this, this, and this, diamond players should be able to [...]...Why should I have to play like a gold player when I'm trying to steadily climb through silver?
"Oh but you have to if you want to climb because you can't trust anyone so you gotta do it yourself"
Okay but why do I have to do it all myself when its a FREAKING TEAM GAME. Team game meaning all 5 of us should be contributing atleast 20% to the victory. Whatever you do with that 20% doesn't matter, so long as it contributes to the overall victory. But this argument is asking me to do well above the 20%...Okay, that's fair.
When did the bar get lowered for the Ezreal's and the Soraka's of the world to be allowed to play ranked? Anyone who has played other PvP games or MMO's with open world know more how to pvp and what needs to happen to win in teamfights, but nope-not the players I get stuck with. -"Yeah, lets focus the tank infront while the 22/5 Yi is shredding up our backline. -"Yeah, lets blow all our ults on the 1 enemy person who got caught out, then rage as to why we had no ults when we get wiped by the remaining 4 enemies who were smart and save their ults. -"We have Sejuani, Yasuo, Orianna, and Leona ults - but lets not teamfight."
I'm the type of player who doesn't type anything in games besides, "ty" or "ok" - so I'm not as toxic as this post probably comes off as, but I am truly a salty butthole right now.
"Ranked has competitive integrity" - hearing this makes me want to throw my PC into a fcking lake.
